We ended up being the only ones touring with Nick this day in a very comfortable van with driver microphone for easy listening. He was very knowledgeable and displayed an uncanny sense of humor. Throughout our tour, we visited beach areas, waterfront, a honey tasting store along with delicious ice cream, McLaren Falls park, complete with a stop @ the cafe. I highly recommend this tour vendor esp. for their guarantee of getting passengers back to the ship before departure.

We had an amazing tour on January 5, 2020 and our guide was exceptional. I believe his name was Phillip. He took us to the Waitomo Glow-worm caves and then to the Kiwi Conservation Center to view the endangered kiwi. Our guide was very patient while we waited for the kiwis to appear and appear they did! It was outstanding to see these little birds. We also viewed other life in this preserve. On the way to the preserve we enjoyed a wonderful barbecued steak luncheon at a restaurant hidden in the hills with a wonderful view of the surroundings. It was a great day!

Because of bad weather at the start of our cruise, we missed a tour from Auckland that would have covered many of the sights in Rotorua. Jan accommodated my last minute request to change tours and we had a private tour of Wai-O-Tapu geothermal park and the Māori living village with Rolf. Rolf made our day. He was knowledgeable of the places we visited but also very personable and funny. Spending the day with him was like spending the day with an old friend. We got to each point of interest on time and Rolf made sure we knew where to go when we got there. And we returned to the ship well ahead of the scheduled departure time. It was a very memorable day.

Our guide Jennifer with Zealandier tours was fantastic. We stopped at the Kiwi bird house before going to the Glow-worm caves. Jennifer is a local and knew all the history and knew we were interested in the countryside and often stopped for photo opportunities, enjoying the landscape, farms, sheep & cows and bee keeping. Jan, the owner of Zealandier Tours provided excellent communication prior to our tour(s), as we booked several with her company. They are excellent and the communication is quick and the website is very easy to use. I recommend them highly.

Hi Evie Thankyou for stopping to take the time to post this review for other travellers to read during these difficult times. You certainly had your challenges with getting to NZ and Australia, and your positive attitude and persistance got you here and onto our tours and home again before all our countries have closed their borders. We were so excitied to be able to host you and to hear that we did not disappoint you. Take much care and keep safe during these times. We will all get to travel again soon. This is a time to stop, enjoy the quiet , hear the birds sing, watch the snow melt & flowers burst into bud. For us in NZ we are watching the summer fade away into Autumn. Kia Kaha (stay strong) and much Aroha (love) from all of us at Zealandier Tours

Friendly & informative guide Rolf picked us up
on time from the cruise port, & assured us we would return promptly for sailing.

Interesting commentary on the drive to Rotorua. Great experience at the Maori Living Village, & saw the highlights of the town.

Included stops at the Redwoods, a waterfall & kiwi farm.

Very enjoyable day out.

We arrived by ship, we booked Zealander tours ourselves. We were advised where to meet and as promised, they were there to greet us. Our guide Steve was a really nice guy full of lots of info along the way. Steve had a great sense of humour and we had a lot of laughs. The Te Puia Maori Cultural Centre was a great experience, the geysers were a sight to see, amazing geothermal park. Great talk on the Maori history. Then onto the Polynesian Spa. We had Deluxe tickets, so got sat in some beautiful natural mineral baths and gaze over the lake. Steve bought us our lunch, arranged a pick up time and was there at the agreed time to pick us up, we had plenty of time in the pools. As we were ahead of schedule, he took us to some additional places. We saw the Redrock Treewalk and he took us to an area with beautiful waterfalls. On the way back to the ship we were keen to see Tauranga's beach area on opposite side of the port. Steve was more than happy to take us there. Absolutley beautiful beaches , cafes bars etc. Unfortunately being on a cruise, only one day here. Steve made sure we were back in plenty of time to board the ship. Five star experience with Steve. Excellent day! Thanks Steve!

We did a shore excursion to Whaka Maori Cultural Village and a few other places around Rotoura. We booked with another tour company that cancelled on us last minute and was able to book this tour instead at the port. I think it was a blessing in disguise!

Jan was an amazing tour guide and she had so many interesting facts and experience to share with us. Everything was really well organized and we were back at the port with plenty of time.

Fantastic Tour with an excellent tour guide (Adrienne). We loved the Hobbiton tour and the waterfall stop on the way back. Obviously the babies favourite part of the day was the ice cream stop. 10 out of 10 👍🏼

This was probably one of the worst tours I have ever been on. Whilst the drive there was very informative, our time at the Thermal village was very disappointing. We were taken to the show that is put on then to the cafe for lunch. It was after this that everything was appalling. We were told to wait in a room for nearly two hours as our guide was coming in 5mins multiple times! Obviously this never happened and after numerous complaints and a poor attempt to carry out the tour himself. We were finally given a tour by the park professionals. It was too little too late as we then didn’t have time to see the large mud pools as we needed to return to the cruise ship. Yes most of our group were arrogant, rude and loud. But for those of us that weren’t it was very upsetting to have nothing for the money we forked out. We wish we had never gone in this tour. Worst experience in our lives! Would not recommend.

Jacinda, I dont understand why you have written a review on Zealandier Tours site and yet posted an image of a tour operator who is our competitor . Your image is that of Johns Trips and Tours of whom does not have a Trip Advisor account or a website.

Our Canadian group of 18 people, mostly doctors and wives, took Celebrity Solstice on March 22, 2014 from Auckland. I had prearranged after reviewing Trip Advisor with the Zealandier Tours on precruise tour at Auckland, and also port excursions at Tauranga, Akaroa, and Dunedin. I emailed Sharee of Zealandier Tour company back and forth, and she was extremely helpful. Apart from one misunderstanding from another small group at Akaroa, which Sharee corrected right away efficiently, our group had a great time at all the ports, and I must say, all the guides were excellent except for Ron at Akaora and Christchurch. We were not pleased that he was 20-30 min. late. Other than that one, we felt all the excursions were great, especially the one at Dunedin and Tauranga. I would not hesitate to recommend this tour company for cruise ship passengers, as they cover similar excursions at a much better price. I want to thank Sharee of the company who helped me to organize the tours and itineraries, and went out of her way to help even at the last minute!!!!

Hello Albert I trust you have just enjoyed your Easter holiday time and thank you for taking time to post a review of your recent cruise vacation down here in New Zealand. Sharee definitely built a strong rapport with you throughout the planning process for your cruise. She is very pleased that the arrangements & excursions turned out well in each port for your group given the little misunderstanding we had in the south. Unfortunately Ron was not one of our regular guides , he came with the bigger bus we had to hire last minute to accommodate the extra 6 passengers who wanted to join with you . Our regular guide was Doug who helped you locate your bus & Ron . The excursions to Rotorua and Dunedin are usually the most popular ports for cruise passengers . Zealandier Tours appreciates your feedback as it helps us to make any necessary changes to ensure you - the client has a quality experience here in NZ. Regards Jan
