Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Recently went on the Hokianga and Bay of Islands Tour. Great way to travel and see this beautiful country. Excellent pre-arranged accommodation throughout with great food at many locations. Exceptional Driver/Guide, with great area knowledge and driving skills, with fun and informative commentary. Recommend No8 tours for your travelling needs.

From start to finish this tour ticked all the boxes. It was my first time in New Zealand and I had been bombarded with flyers for all the typical tourist traps. Luckily relatives (from NZ) treated us to this trip as a surprise and it really did make us see the real must see sights. Everything was made incredibly easy....from the courtesy call a few days ahead of leaving through to the charming anecdotes of our lovely tour guide Andy. I would highly recommend No.8 Tours for the quality of their transport (lovely clean, spacious bus with very comfy seats!!), variety their tours offer and the very personal touch which really does separate them from the rest of the field. Our tour itself covered all the bases....we visited the lovely homesteads belonging to the Beethams, Williams and Elworthy families and ate incredible home cooked delights. We also got to see some amazing coastal and farmland scenery throughout. One of the highlights for me was to try out Michelin class food at the exclusive luxury lodge Wharekauhau (apart from us they only seem to let royal families in!). Andy had such great knowledge of the area and the people still living in it which meant we all learnt something new....even those who have lived in New Zealand all their lives went home armed with new stories to share.
Thank you to Andy and the rest of our group for making my first visit to New Zealand so memorable!

Five night stay at The Devon Hotel in New Plymouth & tours around the area each day.Tour consisted of 14 people including tour guide driver Harry. Couldn't fault the hotel & the food was excellent. Visited many interesting places including Waitomo Caves & the Festival of Lights. Harry was friendly & knowledgeable. Made Christmas special & this was great for me as it was my 2nd Christmas as a widow. No hesitation in recommending this Tour Company.

Wow what a terrific trip to Paihia with no 8 Tours. Climbed up to the Lighthouse at Cape Reinga and a wonderful boat trip through the Hole in the Rock at Russell. Going to the Kauri Museum at Matakohe gosh what a beautiful Kauri Gum Displays the best I have seen in New Zealand. Thanks to James who was a great tour guide and driver.Regards from Annette

Andy's No. 8 tour of the TePuia Geothermal, Kiwi & Maori Cultural center was clearly the BEST of all the tours we took on our lengthy New Zealand and Australia vacation. Andy was warm, friendly, and knowledgeable. He went to extra lengths to ensure we saw the highlights we were interested in and was flexible to adjust the itinerary to please us. And be sure to ask him about the "No. 8" name!

Tour guide Andy met us right outside cruise ship pier. Very knowledgeable about all kinds of subjects. Tour covered lots of ground. (red stag deer farm, Lake Rotorua, waterfalls, Kiwi fruit farm, Te puia geyser and cultural center). Van was new and air conditioned. Te Puia is a must see! Andy went out of his way to find and point out a silver fern for me when I expressed interest in seeing one. We would highly recommend this tour.

This was an absolutely perfect excursion in all aspects. We had booked the "TePuia Geothermal, Kiwi & Maori Cultural Highlights" tour with them. Pick-up from our cruise ship pier on January 21 was perfect. The small tour size combined with the very knowledgeable and friendly tour guide, Andy Somerville, was an absolute delight. It is a tour that we would recommend very highly, especially with this company. We would certainly take a similar tour if we are there again, preferably with Andy as our guide.

Andy made the trip, great. He was very interesting and kept us informed. The highlight of the trip was watching rafters go over the falls. That was exciting. The Mauri show was great and the hot springs and geysers were mesmerizing. Thanks again.

We had Andy as our tour guide and he was excellent. We spent most of the day on the tour. The Mouri village is great and highly recommended.
