Hi I'm Miles Johnson and our company “DayTrippers” has been founded to share a passion of riding bikes with overseas & local tourists, whilst showcasing the beautiful Bay of Plenty region. Our tour business will provide single day riding trips using the latest Giant electric mountain bikes to explore amazing scenery, eat healthy foods, enjoying fun & friendship.We offer cycle tour options perfect for those looking for an active adventure in our beautiful Bay of Plenty city of Tauranga.

Couldnt resist the opportunity to check out an e-mountain bike on a new coastal section of the Hauraki Rail Trail. An e-bike was a decided advantage to cover the distance in a day heading into the breeze and still have time for coffees and a little sightseeing. Day Trippers is a new e-mtbing venture and gets a 5 star rating from me both for the quality of the bikes, the simple operation of the electrics and the efforts of Miles, the Director,to keep our group safe and happy. The trail itself is easy but most of the ride is spent traversing flat farmland and coastal views are rare. In my opinion there are more varied and interesting mountain biking trails that Miles is keen to offer and I'd be very happy to pick up another Day Tripper Cycle Tour in the future.

It was a family fun adventure in our own backyard, fantastic e bikes for all abilities, unbelievable scenery, great lunch. Thanks Miles! Fully recommend this!

If you’re looking for something fun, different and a bit of an adventure, go on the Gold Diggers Trail. Pretty scenery in the Karangahape Gorge, great opportunity to walk through gold mining tunnels along forest paths, see beautiful streams and waterfalls. Miles is a great host and guide, very knowledgeable about local rides, history and the Tauranga area. Yummy packed lunch. Fun riding an electric mountain bike, flys up hills! Safe, relaxing and well organised day out for a huge range of ages and cycling skill levels.

We spent a really fun and interesting 3 hours touring the Tauranga harbour and estuaries. The ebikes were excellent and Miles’ local knowledge was invaluable. We saw areas of town and had views that we never would have had otherwise. A great day!

We rode EBiikes with Day Trippers to the gorge and it was excellent! Mikes is a wonderful guide and host and took us to an incredible waterfall. The bikes are top notch and suitable for anyone who can ride.

We were very impressed with the professional and customer focus of the whole trip. The food supplied was well prepared and yummy. The E Bikes experience was a winner with my wife, and myself could lead to new bikes for the future. My wife and I look forward to the opportunity to experiencing future biking tours with this company. Well done and all the best with the future of your company.

Can not thank miles and Joel enough! Had the most amazing time on their ebikes. Both so friendly and couldn’t do enough to make it the most enjoyable trip. They picked us up from the door and we didn’t stop smiling right up until they dropped us off.
The bikes were totally amazing, so much fun! At first I personally was a bit nervous as I’m unfit. Although I hadn’t nothing to worry about they bikes made the whole 20k so easy! The route we went on was so beautiful and it was all so relaxed. We went at our own pace and there were no expectations. There’s was a few stops, in which a beautiful picnic was provided. Very well done and very tasty, lovely drinks also. Water was given out all the way throughout.
Overall a totally amazing experience and great opportunity to see New Zealand from the saddle. When I come back to New Zealand I will definitely get back in touch and do another trip.

Brand new bikes and van, well organised and engineered the day to our requests. The final section of the hauraki rail trail is virtually flat, good experience on an e bike, thanks Miles.
