Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This store is no longer a Mossop's Honey store, it is a deli/small goods store that sells various dried meats, bbq cooking ingredients (marinades, rubs) and international foods.
There is still a small section with limited Mossop's items, though not what is seen in the pictures.

Visited as a stop off whilst en route to Hobbiton. This is basically a shop selling honey products with a live bee display at the rear of the premises. It’s a 10-15 minute interlude before you do something else. Good range of products at standard prices. Lady running shop very informative about the products. Worth a visit if your passing but don’t go out of your way

Stop here regularly for delicious ice cream flavours and the smell of honey in the shop is lovely. On side of busy highway so can be hard to turn into.

Mossops is basically just a honey shop, with a few honey/bee-related gifts - plus rolled ice creams and a small display of live beehives in the room behind the counter. The lady who served us was friendly and welcoming and explained the beehive activity to us, which was helpful. You can't really spend a great deal of time at this location, nor is it really an activity, but it is worth stopping into if you are driving past.

We stopped here on our way to the Matamata from Tauranga. It's free and you get to see a live honey comb. Lots of local honey, wax, beauty products. We stopped for 20 minutes but very informative. We didn't go (or see) a restaurant when we went. More of a gift shop.

We have always bought our honey from Mossops - they have a large (size) selection & several flavours. PLUS they have other honey related yummies for sale. Would thoroughly recommend buying here.

As we have a hive of our own it is always nice to see living an working girls, doing their stuff and producing an absolutely devine product. Very busy they were and the tasting was interesting. Very different to wesrern Australian flavours. We are NOT allowed to take any honey from anywhere into WA so never a problem for us, we totally understand. Great place to visit and the icecream was also interesting. If you love your honey best place to get it from and well worth a visit.

Easy to get to honey shop as you pass down SH 29 with off street parking.
Lots of goodies to see and sample.
Have a look at the working beehives at the back inside.
You don't have to pay any entry fee.
Ice creams are all good.
Ask for a discount.
