We had an absolutely perfect day with Pat! It was amazing to hit two major highlights (Hobbiton and Te Puia) in one day. Pat was prompt, kind, informative and safely swift in getting us to both places (which most cruise-provided tours are not able to do!!) with ample time for a delicious lunch at Hobbiton and with heaps of time before sail away. We loved that we got to see the Kiwi (bird, at Te Puia), Kiwi (fruit, in fields that Pat took time to show and explain to us) all while getting to spend the day with such a great Kiwi (Pat himself!). We were thrilled with how the day was paced and planned out. We highly recommend placing your tour in the hands of this seasoned professional!

Patrick Lally gave us such a wonderful tour. It was more personal than the cruise ship tours and he tailored it to suit our small group of six. The visit to the Kiwi fruit farm was great and the trip to Hamurans Springs was great.
Then to off to Rotorua so see then Maori ciltural show then off to the mud pools hot springs.
Had great day
Thankyou Patrick for the bottled water at Rotorua and the little gift -much appreciated.
Would highly recommend using Silver Fern Scenic tours to anyone visiting Tauranga.

Hi, pleased to know you had a nice day and enjoyed our tour to Rotorua. Its a great region to see (Bay of Plenty) with a variety of attractions and we are proud to show you around. The kiwi fruit have now been picked and the vines are looking a bit bare. Thanks again, I enjoyed the company of your group for day. kind Regards, Pat

Our tour included driving around Mt.Maunganui with Silver Fern Scenic Tours. We stopped at surf beach and took a leisurely walk to Leisure Island to view the blowhole.(no cost)Then into the country and onto Okere Falls where we viewed the falls from two different platforms and very fortunate to see canoeists riding the white water and over the falls. Awesome fun. Further around Lake Rotorua to visit Hamurawa Falls (cost involved) where we a walked to the source of the spring. This was a lovely walk through a small Redwood Forest. Returned to Tauranga on the old highway. A great afternoon touring. I recommend you take your camera for the delightful shots available and walking shoes for the shorts walks the driver will take his visitors. I will recommend this type of tour to my Wellington friends.

Excellent tour with Patrick. We saw so many things on this excursion. My favorite was the walk to the island, but the gondola ride was a close 2nd.

The day tour to the Te Puia Centre, Geysers and then onto Hobbiton was an experience we will never forget. Our guide was friendly, knowledgable and went out of his way to make sure we maximised our visit.
As we were in Tauranga as part of our Cruise, he worked in with our arrival and departure times to ensure we didn't miss our ship.
We would not hesitate to recommend this tour to anyone considering a trip to Tauranga, it gave us an opportunity to visit Rotorua and Hobbiton in the same day.

We took a day trip off our cruise to see the Canopy Tree Walk. It’s over suspension bridge with an easy hike of a little over a half mile. The views are great. It isn’t all that different a view compared to walking on the ground but a different experience. We caught lunch along the way then on to Te Puia for the geysers. The geysers are the largest in the southern hemisphere & worth seeing. We found the Maiori school even more interesting. They create wood carvings, jewelry, & clothing from their heritage. On our way back to the ship, we stopped by a spa that used the mud from the thermal mud posts to help treat arthritis. It was a great tour & worth the money.

Patrick L was an excellent guide - enjoyed the Maori Village and the Spa visit
Pretty much similar to our pre-COVID trip in January 2020.
Saw a few new spots as well on this trip. Rotorua is a top spot to visit.

Walking on the man-made trails across the redwoods tree walking was exhilarating!
A must experience for visitors, both day and night.
My favourite was day walk as I could enjoy the tree trail in the natural light ❤️

I had a wonderful tour off the cruise with this wonderful guy, Pat! The trip was full of information, he'll be there to pick you up, our trip started with the drive to Rotorua and we had a wonderful time there and it is such a fascinating experience to witness Wai-O-Tapu Geothermal, HUGE KiwiFruit farm, and beautiful sceneries(falls, rivers, mountain) on our side trips(For Instagram lol)! The Living Maori Village experience is unforgettable, you get to sing and dance with them and witness the famous "Haka". The Maori people are just like all New Zealanders(Kiwis) and the most friendly and inviting people I have been around. You will appreciate going around with Pat, such an amazing guy I would say. Worth it!!!

We booked the Private Waitomo Caves and Hobbitton with Tauranga Scenic Tours. Both tours are must dos! I’m a Lord of the Rings fan, so I really enjoyed Hobbitton.

Patrick told us how the kiwi fruit is grown, and pulled off the road so we could see a plant for ourselves,

We were lucky enough to see cherry blossoms in full bloom, and Patrick found some excellent trees for us to stop and take photos with. That was an unexpected surprise - how many cherry blossom trees are on the route to Waitomo.

We were a little pressed for time between our bookings for Waitomo Caves and Hobbitton, but we also spent more time in the gift shops than Patrick probably figured.

Patrick got us his discounted tour ticket rates and let us decide how to pay. He was very accommodating.

I would use him again if I were to return to Tauranga.

Hi, thanks for the review. Glad you guys enjoyed your tour, I had a great day out as well. Wonderful time of the year to drive through the panoramic Waikato farming region on the way to Waitomo Caves & Hobbiton. We were lucky to see an amazing display of Cherry trees in full blossom. The flowering period lasts about 2- 3 weeks per year with a spectacular show of pink blossoms. A long busy day but worth the effort. Patrick
