We perform checks on reviews.
Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It is good for people enjoying some time near the lake. When we were there, it was holding the Winter festival. There were more decoration, activities and kai.
The feeling there is different during day time and night time. So, if time allowed, try to go at different time to enjoy the Domain fully.

The Tongariro Domain consists of a North and South park area, split by the local court, police, library etc. The south domain contains lovely parkland with walking trails, flower gardens (including the Joan Williamson Rose Garden, separate review), playgrounds and a small monorail, while the north domain is used for the Taupo Riverside Markets on Saturday mornings (separate review) and local events.

If you want to have a picnic and enjoy a walk through some gardens, or visit the swans at the nearby marina, the south domain is a great place to take the family, and close enough to the town centre if you just need a break from the city streets.

We had a decent drive ahead of us, so we decided to let the kids play a bit before we started the drive. There's a really great playground here - lots of climbing structures and swings, along with a life size chess board. There are also some nice rose gardens in the area. It's not far from various restaurants and shops.

No need to worry about the can we go again as the train nears the completion of its loop, it goes around again. 3 loops for your gold coin, lots of tooting and a tunnel leaves all the kids with smiles. Great CBD based park across the road from the lake. Picnic and playground are clear favourites for locals and visitors alike

I traveled to Taupo with my 4year old and 6 year old this week intending on taking them out to experience the thermal wonders of the area. However after having lunch we headed to this park and they had so much fun we ran out of time to do anything else.

Firstly they went on the monorail which runs on weekends and public holidays. This was only $2 so great value, and the conductors were excellent at hamming up the experience for them.

Then they had to visit each of the playground 'areas' - a giant chess set, climping pyramid, round swing, toddlers area and the more traditional playground equipment. They had a ball!

The domain also had some very lovely picnic spots, lovely gardens and grounds and good parking. The only thing I don't like is that the toilets closest to the playground are ones you have to pay for. There are however free toilets further down the road at the other end of the park.

Great place to kick back and enjoy the sun for lunch. Plenty of nature around, toilets nearby, and picnic tables available.

This is a perfect parents playground. The main attraction is the Cobb n Co train and kicks off around morning tea time. Pockets of peace are hidden on the smaller statue walks, otherwise there are tons of educational play choices.
