Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We took the one way shuttle from Ketetahi car park. Arrived on time. Clear communication, professional, organised and cheapest we could find at 30nzd one way. All went perfectly!

Was apprehensive about shuttle services as many companies seemed to have a lot of bad reviews... Adventure HQ was excellent. Booked for a shuttle from Taupo. Received email confirmation of my shuttle the day before. Driver arrived to the Taupo isite right on time, and he also picked a few people up in front of their accomodation. Driver was friendly and professional. Prior to the walk he gave us a clear rundown of what to expect, what number to call if in trouble, and exactly what times the returning shuttles would arrive. It made the whole experience so much easier. Would definitely choose their service again in the future. Thanks Adventure HQ.

The driver Paul was brilliant, great laugh, super friendly and gave us all the information and tips we could have needed. The service was on time and driver was very safe on the road. Highly recommend this tour bus for your trip.

Our driver for the 8am pick up was rude. Not directly to me but since I was sitting in the first row I saw all the action happen. He told one couple that there weren’t enough seats to them and then proceeded to let two other people on. He was snapped at one person in our group for not reading the safety card even though my friend was trying to explain that he had recently done the hike. It was not a pleasant start to the adventure. We got a ride back from the Summit bus and this driver was super friendly, offering all 5 of us a ride and was cracking some jokes. Will definitely go with this operator next time

We do not have an 8 am shuttle so not sure you've got the right company. Summit operates out of National Park and Whakapapa, we operate out of Taupo. Completely in the opposite direction.

Since the tongariro crossing was closed because of a death they offered us to do the tama lakes crossing instead which was a beautiful hike. So even though we were a bit dissapionted, the view of the tama lakes made up for it.
The shuttle was on perfect time both ways and the ride on our way there we had nothing to complain about. But on the way back the bus didn’t have any AC so the windows had to be open for 1,5 hours which was very loud. And it didn’t help with the heat. We were sweating and had trubble relaxing which was the last thing we needed after that long exhausting walk. So therefore we can only give it 3/5.

we received email confirmation yesterday stating that we would be picked up at 7:40 outside of the hotel. Today the shuttle did not arrive. We rang to find out what had happened. Paul was extremely aggressive towards me, would not let me talk and finally cut me off. Deb rang me but again spoke over me and wouldn't let me talk. We were blamed. They told us that we should have confirmed the email sent to us yesterday, and that we were to be picked up at 6am at the ISite. I was eventually permitted to speak and read out to them the email which did NOT say we had to confirm and clearly stated twice that the time of pick up was 7:40 outside the hotel. Paul suggested that we had altered the time ourself. We were also blamed for our lack of English skills even though I am English. They did arrange a pick up at 1:00 to their credit. Deb said that this whole saga was not a problem for us because there was 4 hours to get to the first hut. I think that we should be allowed to judge whether this was 'not a problem' given the aggression, conceit and passive aggressive attitudes from them. I have sent the email to them. I am awaiting an explanation. I am wondering how many other tourists are left stranded?

When I came to Taupo, I simply fell in love with the city. It's a small but very friendly community. There was a smile on every face... The lake and the surrounding view is breathtaking. I found Adventure HQ extremely supportive and affordable. The driver/guide, Paul was super friendly and gave me a couple of tips to make my Rupehu experience unforgettable. I would recommend their Tongario and Rupehu Shuttle Bus Tour to anyone who is coming to Taupo.

In addition to delivering as advertised, we were greeted upon our return with some very welcome ice cold water and popsicles. Great job, thanks. And for those considering the crossing, please make sure you know what you are undertaking. We hiked past a heart attack victim. Some parts of the trail are very intensive. Make sure your state of health is good, especially your heart. This is no Sunday stroll for most of us.

I was taking two grandchildren to Whakapapa for the day in the school holidays and didn’t want to be bothered with car parking so the shuttle was the perfect alternative.
Being picked up from home at 8am and delivered to the ski base just after 9am meant plenty of time on the slopes before meeting the shuttle again at 3pm. Our driver was excellent and very friendly. I have used them two years ago but this time it was more expensive and the van was older and not as comfortable.

We booked through Adventure HQ for 7:15am in the morning. Instructions were clear, just wait by the brown sign that pointed to Ketetahi Track and the white or grey van will arrive at your booked time. The van arrived on time and the driver was very friendly. Everything went smoothly!

Hi, we plan to do the Tongariro Crossing next month and was wondering if there will be any refunds for the shuttle if the weather disallows us to do the crossing.
