Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Beautiful, peaceful spot in off season, I would imagine hugely busy in summer. I stayed in my motorhome at the marina, with 6 camp spots (4 powered) available for rv's. It is well appointed, very pretty and well maintained. Great public toilets and picnic areas nearby. I had the place to myself for 2 nights (max stay). Some lovely walks and mt biking tracks around the lake for all levels of fitness. Was raining during my visit, but I could still appreciate the beauty of the lake and surrounds.
Would have gone on a fishing trip on the lake, but too wet this time. Lovely store with everything you need and more ! The cafe style licensed restaurant had good food too. Fish n chips in the dairy/store were exceptional, best ever !

We visited Kinloch beach during the time we spent in the Lake Taupo area, unfortunately by the time we visited the beach the weather had turned miserable with constant heavy rain. Even though the weather wasn't the best we were still able to appreciate the small stretch of beach and the attractive surrounding area. Definitely a place to re-visit when the weather is a lot nicer.

We were challenged by our 9 yo granddaughters to swim in Lake Taupo on our visit there this weekend. We chose to drive to Kinloch beach, at the head of Whangamata Bay, to do so. Parking right on the edge of the sand and shingle beach, we changed and moved gingerly down the slopping watersedge, until eyes closed we plunged into the very cold, clear waters of the lake. Catching our breath, we struggled to stay afloat as the waters, lacking salt, have little bouyancy, and we had to swim hard to maintain ourselves anove the water, hence you warm up pretty quickly. Kinloch has a charm of its own and we recommend a visit to this pretty lakeside town.

It is miles from anywhere with a coarse volcanic pumice sand beach, a pleasure boat creek and harbour and a village store that does take away and eat in food. The occupation for most is fishing for trout in the lake, sunbathing and swimming, or just messing about on the river. It is as undiscovered as any village on the west coast of Scotland. A true get away hideout.
The harbour is home to Black Swan, Grey Duck, NZ Scaup, Coot and Paradise Shelduck.

This is a beautiful, relaxing place to stroll along the beach beside Lake Taupo. There is also a lovely cafe and also a dairy across the road from the beach. At the beach, there is a shed where you can borrow toys to play with on the beach.

A quiet residential area with great scenery. Good walking along the bike tracks either side of the village to other bays.

Kinloch Beach is a nice quite place to enjoy Lake Taupo with a cute little marina, a couple of small shops and plenty of beach and grass to have that picnic lunch.
