Overview
More
Wairakei golf course has been skillfully designed to blend with the natural surroundings of native bush, prolific bird song and picturesque scenery. Being the first of its kind with the uniqueness of the pest proof sanctuary, Wairakei has been recognized as New Zealand’s number one golf course. Sought by most discerning golfers Wairakei truly is an experience to remember. The predator free sanctuary that we have at Wairakei, offers a safe haven to fallow deer and many birdlife including mixed colour pheasants, guinea fowl, pekin ducks, takahe and our nation’s icon, the kiwi, which are all free to roam around the course.

This place is just superb. From the moment you pull in the date you are made to feel special despite driving a shonky ford ranger Ute. The staff are welcoming, the pro shop tidy, well stocked and those staff very good. The coffee in the...More

One of my special treats in the year is to play Wairakei International golf course. It is a lovely course to play. Challenging enough but with wide enough fairways for 20-30 handicappers to still enjoy. Being a sanctuary, the course I'd full of bird life....More

One of nz's most picturesque courses. Excellent experience, friendly staff, great warm up area. The course itself , you get lost in the green , the birds , the quietness and the hole layouts are excellent.

It's hard not to be over-exuberant with superlatives after visiting Wairakei. Work carried out by the current owners has taken what was an excellent golf course to heaven on earth. The course itself is demanding for all abilities, without being stupidly so. If you're golf...More

From the moment you enter this facility you know you are in for something special. There is a low key coolness about the everything these guys do and this compliments the actual course which combines golf with spectacular natural beauty. The course it self is...More
