A wonderful opportunity to take a boat ride on Taupo lake and also to reflect on the amount of effort was required to achieve this wonderful tribute to Ngatoroirangi - Maori High Priest

Only accessible by boat but very impressive to go and see when you are in Taupo! Several boat companies can take you there!

We got a guided tour by canoe to see the carvings. So calm out on the water, so quiet. Great way to go see it and you can burn a few calories while your at it.

Travelled to the carvings by boat from Chris Jolly Outdoor cruises who I highly recommend. Carvings are an incredible, spiritual place. Taupo Lake is a glorious expanse of water, surrounded by so much natural beauty. Do not go to Taupo without making the journey to...More

Although these rock carvings are not too historic, they nevertheless are worth viewing from a sail around Lake Taupo. Most of the boat trips leaving from Taupo harbour include a sail past these photogenic rock carvings

We booked online via Sail Barnaby, cheapest among the ones we saw. Plus, they have online promos so we got additional discounts. Always better to book online rather than take a chance that there will be available slots. :D
