This was our second visit to Lava Glass. The first time we walked through the lovely gardens and this time we watched the glass blowing display. Also bought things both times. The glass for sale is very nice and we are enjoying the items that we bought now that we are home. Also bought time nice cards

We took 45 people here for platter lunches, which were fantastic - great variety of tasty treats. Our group enjoyed the glass-blowing demo in 2 groups, and we were able to entertain them after lunch in the sculpture garden which has a little sound shell - just perfect for a laid back midday concert. The staff even brought the platters out for our mobility-impaired clients, and provided some fold-up chairs and blankets. great terraced seating that could probably seat over 150. This would be a great place for a Summer concert. Excellent helpful staff who went above and beyond.

We went through the Gardens at a cost of $10.00 per person and lovely glass decorations were fabulous. We wished we had actually had lunch there instead of at Wairakei Hotel as the Cafe looked very inviting. The Glass Items for sale were beautiful and would certainly appeal to rich Tourists, but very pricey for the average Kiwi. Cheapest we saw was $45.00.

Absolutely stunning glass, spent a while looking around the shop. Staff were very lovely, kept telling us to touch the different sorts of glass - which was nice since we were terrified of breaking anything! Only disappointing thing was the price to get into the garden. $10 is way too much for the size of it. Also, the pond could do with a good clean as it was bright green.

Everything. Watching the glass blowing was amazing to watch and learn and the garden really showed the complexity and art that goes into creating art

We were just in the lava glass gallery. We did a tour for the glass making and the garden tour.we paid $50 as a family and was told that we can use $20 rebate towards our purchase in the store for $60.I choose 2 items that accumelate $70 and was told by a lady that we can't buy 2 items to use the rebate.we were told that it needs to be $60 per item. This is misleading. If you have rules like that please do not mislead customers you should be saying that at start to avoid issues. The older lady was very rude to us and spoiled our day. When we arrive there was a lady that just started 1 week ago n she was absolutely lovely. The other older lady was extremely rude.We left the gallery heavy hearted without buying anything. We came all the way from Queenstown and now went home without a souvenir. Please educate your staff to say the right thing and be nice to customers. The place was beautiful however was dissapointed with the service.

Dear Sunitha, Thank you for your feedback. I’m sorry to hear you had a frustrating experience, but I really appreciate you bringing this issue to my attention. We discussed the instance with our gallery staff and added labels to items that are excluded from our $60 discounted purchases to ensure this doesn’t happen again. We always aim to deliver a great experience, and we are gutted when we don’t meet expectations. I will be in touch to try and make things right.

The gallery is filled with stunning pieces, but no photography is allowed. You can pay to watch glass-blowing in person, and you can also pay to visit a garden filled with glass sculptures. That what my attached photos are of.
There's also a nice little café here

Cafe ok, scones were dry and they hand out the smallest amount of butter I've been offered anywhere. Stingy for no reason which annoyed me. Glass art is fabulous, and there is some that is quite affordable.
