My husband and I have visited the area a couple of times now, and we really enjoy this track. We go from the Spa Road Thermal Park trail over to Huka Falls. We did this track with our 7-month-old baby in the front-pack carrier. She really enjoyed the scenery!

Reasonable entry level Mountain Bike trek. Approx 17k and we rode this with our 7 and 11yo. We enjoyed the views and falls.

We completed the 14km walk a few days ago. Disappointed that the track was mainly through grassland with little sightings of the river - a few peeks here and there. Path quite slippery in places so take care.

A lovely walk along the river from spa road. The river is majestic but the cherry trees just breath taking. Worth taking a swim costume for the hot springs next to the cafe.

This is a regular stop for us when we visit Taupō as it is so spectacular. However this time, the bridge crossing the falls was shaking significantly as we crossed it. Very odd as it had never happened before and there werent a lot of people on it at the time. Hmmmmm... hopefully the Council checks it now and then!

Amazing place to really appreciate New Zealand’s natural beauty. Mind blowing amount of water that passes under your feet as you stand on the viewing bridge.

We cycled up from Taupo at dusk and were treated to glorious sunset views over the river, had the falls to ourselves and then enjoyed a magical redwood forest ride back, joining the main road track as it was too dark to see

Huka Falls are very picturesque but take a walk along the river paths (don't forget your bathing suit). We visited Dec 2019 and a little downstream is a thermal spa where you can relax in the warm waters or just a few feet away swim in the freezing river (be careful!). Great experience
