Go treat yourself!

Beautiful place. Sensational hot pools. 3 beautiful pools with different temperatures. We've been in summer and winter and it's equally as amazing. The staff are awesome. We treated ourselves to a massage for our 25th wedding anniversary there too! Awesome! Amazing place, great people. Ka Pai Wairakei Terraces. You've got it just right!

surpassed our expectations
May 2021
We 4 women travelling away for girls weekend and passing through Taupo decided to start our holiday with a soak at these hot pools. We all obtained grab-one vouchers. None of us had ever visited before and came because of glowing recommendation from a friend. Well this place is FABULOUS. We were greeted by friendly relaxed staff. The pools were beautiful, set in manicured landscaped yet natural surroundings. One of our group has been to many hot pools in the country and said this was by far the best. Didn't have time to do the walk but will be sure to do this on our next visit. A wonderful experience that we will be sure to repeat.

Not as we expected
Apr 2021
We found a voucher on GrabOne actually thinking this was another place and got the name wrong. On arriving we weren't so sure about what to expect. We saw the lovely looking bathes, but unfortunately with young ones you aren't allowed in there, so we ended up only doing the walk around the area. It's very nicely done, with lots of Maori related aspects and terraces with lots of great colour. We spent about 45 minutes or so walking around and taking photos. It's probably the type of place you'll do the walk once only and probably not again, but would like to come back one day to the baths. Pity about the age restriction.

Can't wait to return
Apr 2021
We enjoyed these hot pools so much we went back the next day. Fantastic setting, friendly staff, immaculately clean, beautiful pools. A real bonus is not having anyone under 14, so especially good during the school holidays to find something child free.
We booked via grabone which made entry quite a lot cheaper. Cant wait to return when we are in the area again.

A must see! nature at its most beautiful
Apr 2021 • Couples
I feel priviledged to have visited the beautiful Wairakei terraces, we stood in awe and watched the geyser erupting and the fresh plume of steam rise up into the air, was simply an amazing act of nature, the terraces were so beautiful to look at, the turquoise blue and the orangey pinky white terraces are just magical!

Beautiful hot pools

Used the grabone vouchers. You need to bring ID even if your kids are 14/15. The staff are quite unfriendly on the counter. The pools are beautiful and clean.

Liked very much .
Liked the no kids.
Loved the different temp pools.
Yep definitely relieved aches, made your skin feel great...we visited on public holiday so quite a few bodies but still worth it.
Shame they charged so much for the terrace walk so didn't get to do that. Still a nice relax and will do again

Warm and beautiful
Mar 2021 • Couples
Stopped in at the Wairakei Thermal Hot Pools on a Saturday. Not too cramped but reasonably busy. Got a discount voucher from GrabOne. The pools are warm (three different pools, three different temperatures) and a beautiful bright blue. Walk around the terraces is an additional cost (voucher was also available on GrabOne). A short drive from Craters of the Moon geothermal walk.

Looking for some relaxation, we enjoyed an hour of soaking in the glorious hot pools followed by wonderful hour long massages.
The whole experience was awesome and the staff extremely friendly. I’d recommend Wairakei Terraces to anyone who needs to unwind from the stresses of the world.

Visited Wairakei Terraces Thermal Spa on a recommendation of a friend. So glad I followed it up as I was going to take my mother and partner to another site 45min away toward Rotorua. The best thing about the Terraces is it's an adult only spa. The pools are set among the bushes making for a very tranquil and peaceful soak. Our favorite pools were the cool pool (about 26-30deg) and the hot pool (40deg+). Easily loose track of time soaking. Only negative is hard to see/know where the steps were in the middle pool. You would stub your toe at least twice (I did) trying orientate yourself around the pool. Magical place, definitely worth a visit.
