Went for a girls road trip to get out of Auckland. After lockdown restrictions ended. Needed another rest from the last lock down rest. Beautiful place to visit. Tried the 3 parts and settled in the middle section. I wasn't able to hack the other two pools as they were just a little too hot for my sensitive skin. Had a very good nights sleep after visiting this place.

Recommend walking the terraces walkway first before dark, then relaxing in the hot pools and trying out the various pools and temperatures. The pools are lit up at night and I think the sun going down is the best time to get in the hot pools.

We visited here after walking around Orakei Korako thermal park so we were ready to relax. A great range of temperatures which met our individual needs perfectly. Lots of places to sit as a couple and enjoy time together soaking.

These pools are great - set in trees and bush - clean and relaxing. There are 4 pools with the water at 4 different temperatures. We felt so relaxed after spending a couple of hours here. The changing rooms were clean. There’s a cafeteria too with very good coffee. The staff were lovely - just one niggle for us - the staff member in the cafeteria needs to take more care with her mask 😷

This is a must to any visitor to Taupo. Pools are beautiful and clean. Water is different temperatures in pools and clear. Resort does not allow children but when you see how much natural boiling water is around you will understand f why. Staff are also really friendly and a cafe is open to take away your hunger. Great day out will be back.

If you are looking for a quiet time, (no kids) in beautiful surroundings to soak in lovely hot pools, then this is it! We arrived at opening time and only saw 6 other people for an hour - pretty much alone. The pools were perfect temperatures, very clean and therapeutic watching the bird life. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Facility was very clean and tidy. When we are in the region next, we will be returning for sure.

pre Christmas visit and no more than around 10 visitors in the pools with me being the only one at one point talking to the experienced groundskeeper. Clean and fresh pools, really hot in summer and I stupiddly did not put on sunscreeen & paid for it over the next two weeks, so slip, slop, slap and all will be ok as no shade whilst in the pools, maybe neded during the intense summer heat

I see I can book a walk through the terraces or book entry into hotpools. If I book entry to hotpools, woukdnt that include walking through the terraces? Or is the walk something completely separate?

They are separate, to get to the pools you just walk down a fardened path, the terraces walk is more of a geothermal boardwalk and is seperate

Are there showers for afterwards?

Hi, Yes - there are showers - however - they say that you don't get the benefits of the minerals in the water if you shower it off immediately afterwards.

No tables I haven’t seen anyone eat there. I would suggest De Brett’s or AC baths both lovely places if you want to take a picnic :)

Hi, does anyone know if you need to book ahead to use the hot pools or if you can just turn up?

We bought half price tickets from grabone. They are on sale again now. Best hot pools experience weve had. I phoned ahead to check if we needed to book and told to just turn up. I bought more grabone tickets for these pools as we enjoyed them so much.
