Wow.... what an experience. We booked in with Susan before our trip to NZ as trout fishing was on our list of top priorities to do while here. Susan was amazing to deal with from afar and so lovely in person. She is full of knowledge and has been fishing her entire life. Susan was such a blast, and has a great sense of humour. She was very accommodating to our needs and even phoned the cafe near the marina to cook up one of the amazing fish we caught!!! The cafe was run by very lovely locals and the fish was delicious! I would definitely recommend Fish Her Charters to anyone who is interested in trout fishing, or just wanting a fun day out on lake Taupo - its so beautiful! Thanks again Susan - was definitely a day we will remember.

We spent Sunday morning out on Lake Taupō onboard the Fish Her boat with two of our friends.
Our friends who live in Kinloch had been out with Susan on her boat previously and recommended her. They were right, we had a very relaxing morning and returned with two superb trout that we enjoyed for dinner that evening.
The boat is very comfortable and Susan knows the lake and where to find trout.
She even guts them for you.
Once we'd caught the fish, we did some sightseeing. Susan took us to two waterfalls on the western side of the lake. We hadn't seen them previously.
Susan is a very competent fisher, she's good company and we recommend her services highly - we will return next time we're in Taupō.
A huge thank you to John and Rhonda for the trip.

I am just a young fella and have spent past 60 years visiting Taupo and currently living here. Owned a number of boats, dinghies, sailing and powered. Taken out lots of friends and overseas visitors. Observed and met a lot of top tourist operators. Not unlike Susan Fisher Girl Kinlock. Been out with her today with a lovely young couple Nathanial and Anna. Wow, what an awesome trip all respects. Professional, good knowledge of the Lake and surrounds. Yep she knows where the fish are. While Nathanial and Anna fished I shut up and admired Susan's manner time and patience ensuring they had a great experience. No I wasn't ignored, she's a great conversationalist as well. For my money, the niche location of Kinlock and nearness to the Western Bays represents excellent value for money. Seriously can't recommend highly enough.

Really enjoyable three hours of fishing with Sue today at Waihora. She set us up for success and we managed to catch a fish each. Even got some great hints for cooking the catch.
Leaving from Kinloch means it is not far to the stunning western bays of Lake Taupo.

Had a great morning fishing with Susan! She was a knowledgable and friendly guide who has a passion for fishing. It was a windy day but she found calm waters to successfully catch some trout. A restaurant in Lake Taupo cooked the fish and we enjoyed it for lunch. Would highly recommend as your guide.

We had a fantastic fishing experience with Susan at the helm, ensuring we all landed a fish.
She is very patient and took time to explain what was happening through out the day which was appreciated by the less experienced anglers in the group.
Her communication and organisation were excellent..

What a great day fishing! Susan is knowledgeable and personable and made the whole trip a pleasant experience. It's obvious she knows the lake and the fish. She is also very knowledgeable about conservation on the lake. Being away from the bigger town of Taupo made for less boat traffic and a quieter marina which was nice. Highly recommend going with Susan for a great experience.

A fantastic day of fishing and sightseeing on beautiful Lake Taupo. Susan is extremely knowledgable and engaging and it was a great pleasure to be on her boat. Both my wife (who doesn't fish) and myself had am amazing time fishing and sightseeing, all the time with Susan giving tips and hints and pointing out things in the wonderous scenery. We caught - and released - plenty of fish over the day as well as seeing numerous waterfalls and the Maori carvings.
I can highly recommend Susan and Fish Her Charters and we will be booking again the next time we are in New Zealand.

We booked a charter for our family, our kids are 12 and 18. First impressions were how spotlessly clean the boat was. The seating was comfortable and after sorting our licenses out, we got going. We headed to a calm cove and the fishing began.
Susan was really good explaining how everything worked and helped us all out. It didn't take long for Susan to join in on our family teasing and we all had a great time. There was plenty of time for everyone to have plenty of turns and it wasn't long before we caught enough trout to keep.
We then heading to a secluded spot to have a short walk to a beautiful waterfall and then it was time to head back to land.
We all had a fun, relaxing time and I can highly recommend going out on a charter with Susan. We will definitely be back!

Hi. How much does it cost for 4 pax on 11th or 12th December? Trout fishing.

Hi there,
Thanks for your query. I charge $280 for a 3 hour Fishing Charter, then $80 an hour after that. This price is for the boat not per person. I can take up to 5 people on my boat fishing. Each person who wants to fish is required to have a Lake Taupo fishing license. These are $20 each adult, $4.50 each child. You can get them online or from me on the day.
Let me know if you have any more questions.
Susan Hastie.

Susan, we will be in Taupo next Thursday 19th and Friday 20th and would love to get out on the lake for a fish. The party will be 4 but only 2 fishing. I am from Australia and my uncle (82 yo) from Auckland will be needing a fishing license. Are either of these days available? If it is easier our partners can stay on land but my wife wanted to also treat this as a sightseeing cruise and see the Maori rock carvings.
Hear from you soon
Cheers Phil

Hi Phil. I can take you on Thursday at 9am if that suits. We can fish and go to the Carvings which will take about 4 hours. The cost for this is $360 plus your fishing licenses at $20 each. No problem taking 4 people and those that dont want to fish, dont need to get a license. If you are wanting to book, I'll just need a contact cell phone number to put with the booking please.
Let me know if you have any more questions.
Susan Hastie.
