Loved our experience with FourB. We took out the all inclusive package which included the Waihaha section of the Great Lake ride and the Timber Trail which gave us three days of wonderful riding. Have to say the Waihaha ride is next level with great riding, amazing views and ending with a boat pick up from a magical bay - so much fun! Loved the history on the Timber Trail, the views, the feeling of being in an ancient forest and experience of riding bikes over enormous swinging bridges. Riding into the spiral was also a real spin out! We hired out the full suspension bikes and the bikes provided were great and in wonderful condition and working order and Johnny was happy to set them up like our bikes at home. Special shout out to Johnny who was a wonderful communicator in helping us book this trip and so considerate, friendly and organised while we were on this part of our holiday. The accomodation, food provided and restaurant ideas were wonderful and greatly appreciated; it was so good having the food organised for us - absolutely loved not having to cook. Thanks so much Johnny for helping us out with such a wonderful and fun experience where we did not have to worry about a thing except to keep our legs turning!

We were part of a locals day mountain bike experience on the Great Lake Trail, Waihaha to Waihora arranged by Johnny C at Four B cycle tours. We were in one of four groups who were shuttled from Kinloch to Waihaha to do the 3-4 hour ride to meet the pickup boat at the end of the trail at Waihora which is a remote area and Trail in the Western Bays of Taupo. The whole experience arranged for us was trouble free, professional and enjoyable. Having used FourB
Cycle Tours before we can highly recommend their services from their base adjacent to Craters of the Moon mountain bike park ( park is currently out of action due to Cyclone Gabrielle damage) They will supply most services to do with biking in the Central North Island including shuttles and bike hire.

The service here was amazing. Third time we have rented here. The care they took to listen to the rider regarding skill level and comfort is reassuring. I got a great bike which perfectly suited my needs and ability. We thoroughly enjoyed the recommended tracks! Highly recommend!

My partner and I hired two e-bikes and rode the Great Lake Trail sections from Orakau, through Kinloch to Whakaipo Bay. What an amazing experience! Jonny drove us there and got us on the bikes and then even rode the first few kms with us to make sure all was good. I highly recommend this tour and FourB. Excellent, well designed trails and simply awesome scenery, plus customer service that is second to none. Thanks for a memorable experience Jonny.

Superb. I’ve not ridden a bike for 3 years & certainly not through enchanted forests & alongside a magical rivers. You do need to know how to ride a bike but if I can do it then it’s all about confidence. Johnny was superb, kept at my pace, but wasn’t too hands on, picking up my confidence as I went on I got faster and learnt how to use the E-bike to my advantage, go up hill winding paths and down bumps and I lasted the 17km. You do stop for two lookout points and photos too. I booked this in a spur of the moment thing & I was also solo, it was raining, muddy and chilly but Johnny made it a great ride with interesting features along the way. Some road travel but very quiet roads. Water and a protein bar is given which was DF! Lovely and if I was fit enough I’d book the amazing Great Lake 83km Trail where you come back via boat. His support kept me going. After I visited the Wairakei Terraces and Thermal Health Spa to ease my muscles and it’s near the bike shop. Excellent spur of the moment choice in bad weather, made the day fun, exhilarating and feeling of calm afterwards. That feeling is worth every penny.

We were looking to hire ebikes and do a couple of easy rides around the Taupo area. We enquired with a few other places but found 'FourB', in particular 'Lily' incredibly helpful. She gave us various options, prices, and availability. She replied quickly, and even followed up when I had missed an email. The options she gave us turned out to be much better than expected, we absolutely loved our two half day rides. Our expectations were well and truly met, thank you for your excellent customer service.
Amy looked after us on day 1, thank you for explaining the rides to us, and encouraging us to keep riding. We will definitely be purchasing bikes from you in the near future and enjoy the active relaxing experience riding ebikes does! Your enthusiasm is exceptional.
The bikes themselves were great, we loved the ebike experience, and had absolutely no issues at all. We would definitely recommend.
Sorry we can not add any photo's, we were too busy enjoying the moment :)

In early December 2023 we had one of the great MTB adventures with Jonny and the team at FourB. Over 4 days we biked in the Rotorua MTB, the Timber Trail and the Waihaha trail around the western bays of Lake Taupo. As we live in the South Island of NZ, logistically this was a challenging set of rides to plan and deliver. We needed a package which included accommodation, meals, good bikes - standard and ebikes and transport including numerous pick up and drop offs. FourB delivered the lot brilliantly without missing a beat. Jonny and the team were a delight to deal with. They were warm and friendly, provided helpful advice based on their extensive biking experience and were fun to be around. We can't speak highly enough of the service we received and how FourB made our trip so memorable. Without doubt we will be back for more...

We dropped in at about 1pm so that gave us enough time for Huka Falls Trail and another MTB trail. So we thought. Just did the first one. We’re not Mtn bikers but ride road bikes regularly. Took a couple small falls each and walked a few short sections. But still a great trip with lots of great views. The real reason for the five star review is that I emailed FourB at 9:40p at night about a shuttle to ride the Great Lake Trail the next day bc we would need a second shuttle to get back to our car at the shop (bc otherwise we couldn’t return the bikes). I forget what time they responded but they responded before midnight to say what they could do. It didn’t quite work with our schedule but wow what incredible service!!!

Johnny and Amy made sure this beginner had an adventure to remember. Service was amazing from pickup to dropoff and I highly recommend also utilising the businesses airbnb. The trails around Taupo are well designed and maintained and there's something for everyone

We enjoyed hiring e-bikes in Australia and were thinking of buying some so decided to hire a couple of bikes in Taupo to ride along the river and see if it was something we wanted to do. We went to FourB and told them we were beginners, we hired e-bikes and were directed to the Huka track to Aratiatia dam. The trail turns out to be a grade 3 with a narrow rutted track, hills, the odd step, branches to duck under, rocks to manoeuvre around and the majority in the bush so no riverside riding. When we spoke to experienced riders they told us that track is not really suitable for beginners. I ended up head over heels going down a step and landing in the blackberry. So a few scrapes, almost a week later the bruise covers the whole of my shin and ankles and it's still painful. I ended up walking quite a bit of the track and we turned off across the bridge and headed back on the other side of the river riding on the road which was much better. I see a previous reviewer noted they had a few spills as well. Not everyone is comfortable with spills off the bike and there is the real danger of a serious injury. I think more care could have been taken to direct us to an easier track as this was pretty dangerous. We won't be buying e-bikes.
