Richard took us out for 2 hours, including the Maori carvings and trout fishing. You will agree with me that Richard is the first class skipper and fisherman, when you see how he handles his boat, finds the fish, cleans and bags them. We were really excited that we got 3 big rainbow trouts. What is the taste like? Super yummy! The Maori carvings were good, but nothing like the excitement of fishing. I will definitely fish with Richard again if I go to Taupo again.

Sunday morning in the still air over cast with gale winds forecast ,left harbor fishing within 25 minutes first fish on board 10 minutes later great start......out fished by 2 to 1 never teach a lady to fish it will come back to bite you in the but.....3 hours later limit on board arrived back in harbor with fish all cleaned and packed ready for trip home.......If anyone wants to go fishing with experienced skipper good fisherman you can not go pass Richard many thanks mate Santa Pete....

We went on a 2 hour trip where Richard took us to see the Maori carvings and for trout fishing. We were able to catch 3 big trouts which Richard kindly helped us to clean and bag so that we could cook them for dinner. Richard is very friendly and experienced and we had an amazing time with him!! Will definitely come again the next time we come to Taupo.

We went out on Sunday for 3hrs with Richard, we had our 9 year old son with us. It was an awesome experience and great fishing trip. Richard put us on the fish quickly and we managed to catch a few rainbows. Our son loved it and managed to catch 3 fish. He wants to go fishing again. My wife really appreciated the cleaning and bagging of the fish which was an awesome extra service. Overall a great trip with Richard and would recommend to anyone of all levels of fishing and for families. Big thanks to Richard for the great trip! :)

We were lucky to be assigned to a very experienced fisherman, Richard Van Dijk for a 2 hour hire.
He promised to meet our target of 3 trouts, one each. There was nothing in the first 1 hour. After we moved to another location, we caught our first good size trout. With half an hour left, we would have been happy with just one fish. However, Richard insisted that he had to keep to his promise and would extend the time for free if required. By the time we caught our second larger trout followed by a 3rd one, we had close to 3 hours with him.
Though he did not expect, we were happy to compensate him for the extra time. He was also good company with impressive knowledge to share.

We got 10 trouts in 2h ! Very kind host :) thanks to whom we had a great time

We chartered Richard on his boat pinnacle for a 3 hour trout fishing adventure.
We had a great morning with Richard, we caught more than enough trout, saw the Maori carvings and overall had a great day. Richard helped us out with where to take our trout for dinner, and also a local butcher to smoke our trout.
If I could give 7 stars I would ;-)

We went out a couple of weeks ago and had a fantastic time. Can't recommend Richard and Pinnacle Charters enough! We caught enough trout for a mean dinner - cooked to perfection using Richard's BBQ tips!

We decided to go for a fishing trip as we went for a walk on the wharf. We came across Richard on pinnacle charters. He was very friendly and has a great knowledge of fishing on Lake Taupo. We caught 12 fish in 2 hours. Would recommend this trip to anybody stopping past taupo.

We spent 3hrs trout fishing in lake Taupo and it was fantastic!! Richard really knows his stuff, on fishing and local knowledge, and we caught plenty of trout. A great way to spend a morning in the area, highly recommend it.
