Liam was a fantastic captain, 5 fish in two hours. My 4 year old boy said it was the best day ever!!!

Had a fantastic morning out with my two boys who caught some beautiful fish. Richard is a fantastic man and great with the kids, we had the best morning!

A fantastic couple of hours on the beautiful lake Taupō with a true blue kiwi bloke. If you want to catch a trout this is the pirate to do it with. Knowledgeable, relaxed, plenty of great stories and fish!
If you are after a fancy pancy, pretentious or touristy experience look somewhere else. If you are after fish, a laugh and a real kiwi experience, look no further.

A magic experience with Richard on Lake Taupo. Watching the absolute joy on the faces of my two grandchildren, when they both landed two Rainbow Trout 'on their own', was lovely. Then to take the trout on ice all the way back to Christchurch, watched over by the children was fabulous. By the time the kids cooked them and presented them to their families to eat, it was a dream they will always remember.
The whole experience was down to Captain Richards easy direction. His knowledge of fish and the lake make it an exciting experience, as opposed to a boring frustrating experience. And I must admit this Grandmother was excited to bring in two fish. I had never fished in my lifetime. I believe it is part of our Kiwi culture 'to go fishing', so to share this with my grandchildren was magic. Richard is a natural with kids!

Richard had a lovely professional, kind manner with my grand-kids and myself. Although he used his knowledge and expertise to get us six Rainbow Trout in two hours, the kids felt they caught and reel in their two all on their own. And so they did, with a few select words and directions from Richard. Our experience on Lake Taupo with Richard was the highlight of our two weeks away. Brilliant, exciting, peaceful, healthy and such fun!
We put the trout on ice and watched over them, back to Christchurch. Family and friends cooked and enjoyed eating them! Magic!

Booked a quick trip out with Richard and the aim was to get my wife & 2 kids onto their first Rainbow.
Richard delivered the goods and I was super stoked to see my family connected to a Lake Taupo trout!
They had a blast and we are all looking forward to smoked trout. Was good to teach the kids how to catch and also prepare and eat all of the fish and that nothing goes to waste.

A beautiful day in Taupo fishing with an expert trout fisherman Captain Richard. He knows his trout!!
Captain Richard was great with my two 12 year old grandsons. Sam and Jack were thrilled to catch 5 trout and also learn some things about trout fishing.
I also appreciated Captain Richard arranging for the fishing license for the boys and showing the boys how to clean the fish. Thank you Captain Richard for a great day for grandma and the boys. Hope to be back soon.!

Richard knows how to catch fish, two of us and had a great trip
Organized us where to have it cooked in the restaurant and get the remainder smoked which was beautiful at the Taupo butchery
he also tried to organize us on another fish trip in the coramandel peninsula

Brilliant day on the water with Richard caught a bucket load of fish and swapped lots of stories .
Richard is a credit to industry and the town will spread the word far and wide .

Captain Richard was such a great fisherman. First mate Joe was a big help. Richard knows how to fish. It was early 8 a.m. trip for four hours. My husband, cousin and I were in the boat. We each caught one. One of those days where fish were not hungry. Differently would go again. Really nice people. Fish were delicious!!
