Photo shots of when the sun is setting and rising over the lake are memorable. It is worth walking a few Kms along the waters edge to enjoy the scenery and at times fresh clean air

We had lunch overlooking the lake. It was a beautiful winter day and all staff were very friendly. Plenty of places to take great photos.

You cannot even begin to comprehend just how big his lake is. The water is so clear and on a good day, it's a fantastic way to see the Taupo region

Lake Taupo is always breath taking and beautiful in any season. The walkway around the Lake front is accessible for everyone. The views of the mountains are spectacular.

Had so much fun cycling around the lake! Was so beautiful at dusk! Would highly recommend seeing when in Taupo

Yes it's okay but I don't think it's a patch on the lake in Queenstown. Yes it's large but nowhere near as picturesque.

Taupo is the most wonderful and beautiful place to visit. A real must see and stay. Would recommend a minimum of 2 nights, just so much to see and do here

Lots of walking and cycling which ever you prefer, amazing views too. In summer I presume you could swim in the lake, it looked very safe for children, plenty to do for all the family

Lots of options to enjoy the water and scenery depending on your age/budget. Most of these are found at Taupo. Great if the weather is not too cold or wet.

This impressive lake gives you a clear round view of the surrounding countryside. Take a stroll or a jog along the lake. Most people come to Taupo for organized outdoor tours like rafting, hang-gliding etc.
