Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This walkway offers a lot of promise but is in need of some riverside revegetation. Popular with local dog walkers & cyclists.

This trail branches off the coastal trail and follows a creek. You forget that you are in a city. A good place to get some exercise.

Amazing to think we were just steps away from the central city. Peaceful easy walkway along the river.

We rode our bikes along here to escape the heat and crowds of the coastal path. What a pleasant surprise so peaceful and calming through the shadows of the ferns and bubbling stream...

I thoroughly enjoyed walking the full length of this walkway from the coast up to the end. It has beautiful trees, gorgeous river and mostly a good, well maintained surface. The ‘extension’ at the inland end of the walkway was less well maintained and a bit muddy on the day we had our walk. It’s good for walking, running or biking.

On a hot day, this is a lovely walk around the city - away from the cars and shopping area winding its way along the stream.

It was a dark and stormy Sunday afternoon, there was cabin fever brewing so what do you do... 🤔🤔
A walk..! But where is not getting blasted by the weather... Te Henui Walkway. That's where.
Peaceful, calm out of the wind and rain (still need a light jacket)
Perfect afternoon stroll. Very easy and could take the dogs too.

We wandered in from the Te Henui Cemetery and our stroll along this stream was a delight. Birdsong and water rippling over stones and watching happy dogs having a sniff and a run. We took the opportunity to visit the well known open garden Te Kainga Marire in Spencer Pl which is beside the walkway.

We started at East End. Free carparking and many empty places this time of year. The walk eastwards is sheltered most of the Rewa Rewa Bridge. There are lots of opportunities to look at the sea and the black sandy beach with children playing, and the many surfboard riders in the waves.

Starting from the coastal walkway, it provides a nice running/ walking track. Runs along a river and is unpaved. Enjoyed the views and scenes while running.
