This is a beautiful black sand beach that is equally popular with surfers as with dog owners walkers taking their dog for a walk. Beautiful scenic views and if you are lucky you may even some sea lions sunning themselves.

The views here make this beach the best in the city! Surrounded by the islands and Paratutu rock. Good surf spot also.

Came down through a hill of black sand which was very fun. Not sure if there are other ways to get there, had to climb the steep hill of sand which can get really hot at midday. Beautiful beach and rocks.

This small beach bay was a lovely find, fine, black, soft sand, west coast waves, plenty of surfers and a dog friendly beach.
