Utterly spectacular 11km long walkway along the seafront in New Plymouth, New Zealand. Walk, ride skate or scoot from Bell Block in the north to Port Taranaki to the south taking in the stunning Te Rewa Rewa Bridge, three swimming beaches, a golf club, rolling farm land, rivers and various accessways to residential and shopping areas.

We hired electric bikes and did the whole walkway with ease. Absolutely beautiful, stop-offs for food and plenty of stunning photo opportunities

This is a great activity to pass some time, you can start somewhere on the walk and basically go as far as you want. Watch out for the bikes though. Some of them are pretty fast.really enjoyed.

We biked the coastal walkway and what a fabulous job has been done of it. With most of it concreted and flat it was an easy ride, although we did strike a calm day. It would be spectacular when the sea is pounding in. Beautiful...More

We walked in both directions on different days. Nicely paved path which is popular with walkers, cyclists and skateboarders. Take care with cyclists - some have bells but others sneak up at pace behind you. Plenty of seats for rest stops and also other walkways...More

Yes although we had our own bikes we saw several people/groups with hired bikes I am aware there is a place you can hire them at the port end of the walkway.
