Utterly spectacular 11km long walkway along the seafront in New Plymouth, New Zealand. Walk, ride skate or scoot from Bell Block in the north to Port Taranaki to the south taking in the stunning Te Rewa Rewa Bridge, three swimming beaches, a golf club, rolling farm land, rivers and various accessways to residential and shopping areas.

We were there on a stormy day and my walk in the rain and wind was exhilarating. The walkway is safe even when wet and there are views of Puke Ariki, the town and sculptural pieces. Sadly the mist hid Mt Taranaki for the weekend...More

Wow.What an attraction for this town. We rode our bicycles most of the way.Loved it.I like how there are many entry and exit points so you can park up anywhere along the way.

Great walkway that's easy to walk along with buggies. Lots to see along the way and a good way to burn off some energy in little ones.

Although I have biked this whole and spectacular attraction my visit on Wednesday was with a group of seniors the youngest being 78. That it is accessible for everyone is a credit to the council and the rest of NZ can hang their heads in...More

While we are New Plymouth on holiday we use the walkway most days to exercise. Easy to get to from anywhere in town and car parks scattered in different positions to gain easy access to it. We often discuss the time and money used to...More

Yes although we had our own bikes we saw several people/groups with hired bikes I am aware there is a place you can hire them at the port end of the walkway.
