Utterly spectacular 11km long walkway along the seafront in New Plymouth, New Zealand. Walk, ride skate or scoot from Bell Block in the north to Port Taranaki to the south taking in the stunning Te Rewa Rewa Bridge, three swimming beaches, a golf club, rolling farm land, rivers and various accessways to residential and shopping areas.

This is one of the best things N.P. city council have done. A stunning walkway right up tro Bell Block. On a nice day it is beautiful. Well worth doing.

We biked the entire walkway from the Port to Bell Block. Many views of Mt Taranaki with a great photo spot at the bridge. You can stop and spend sometime on the beach along the way. The walkway is very well made and quite wide,...More

The coastal walkway stretches the whole coast of New Plymouth city and provides a great place for entertainment, travel, or exercise. From the walkway the CBD is easily reachable, as well as many of the coastal suburbs. The walkway is perfect in summer, but is...More

Would definitely recommend the coastal walkway and certainly the Te Rewa Rewa Bridge. Beautiful views of Mount Taranaki on a clear day.

Great walkway with excellent views along the way - great when the waves are crashing in. Watch out for speeding bikes!

We hired bikes and cycled this track. Great views and the path was wide and easy to ride. A great way to see the coastline!

Walked the walkway over two days. Plenty of room for the many cyclists, walkers and runners using the strip.

No matter the weather, the coastal walkway is a definite highlight. Whether you’re walking, skating or cycling you’ll enjoy the ocean breeze and fresh air. Pick up the track at any point along the coast and stop when you get tired. It’s just perfect!

Very many people on bikes, so if your dog can walk a straight line then o.k. If not, then carnage will ensue.
