Fantastic!

Did some other walking in the vicinity, but doing the treewalk, daytime & nighttime (spectacular lighting effects) is well worth while.

Good walk - a bit short, but very informative to learn all about the redwoods! Best to go at night time, when everything is glowing in the dark - just stunning!

We arrived about 8:30pm to walk the suspended bridges that go thru the redwoods. The lights were amazing and the view you get from being high up was thrilling! Definitely worth going to.

We decided to do it in the day and night, the contrast was great and we enjoyed both experiences. At nighttime everyone needs to turn off their camera flashes as that is quite distracting. Found that our iPhones took better pictures than our expensive cameras as we had not taken a tripod. One of those experiences that it is just... More

Hi Zak1100, many thanks for your review! We're pleased to hear you enjoyed the daytime and nighttime treewalk and were able to get some good photos with your phones at night! Yes, flash on visitors cameras/phones is an issue and we apologise for this. This is likely an issue we will start informing our night walk visitors about so that... More

The kids really wanted to do the tree walk so I took some deep breaths and went up and it was amazing. The bridges didn't move too much which is what I was freaking out about and the tree walk was educational and quite a good walk. It would be lovely in the night with the beautiful big lanterns. We... The Redwoods Tree Walk is a great way to see these large trees from a higher vantage point. The suspended bridges (23) from one redwood to another go for 1/2 kilometer and takes about 40 mins. We did the day walk which gave us a good perspective on distance these trees cover, however the night walk has huge laminated lanterns... More

We were told this was worth doing but it was so much better than I expected. I wish we had bought the combo day/night ticket. We went up in day time and it was fascinating but would have been awesome to see it with the lights. Most people would manage this. Even my husband who is not keen on heights... More

A great activity to slide into an evening in an action packed itinerary whilst staying in Roturua. The night time illumination walk was very nice to do. It take approximately an hour. I was worried it would be slippy after raining for much of the day but it was very safe. I was just wearing boat shoes and the family... More

Hi holidaygetaway, thanks for your in-depth review of the treewalk! We're pleased to hear you enjoyed the nighttime experience. In regards to the lighting on the platforms, we like to keep them moderately dim to preserve the ambience of the night time tree walk and we're quite happy that there is enough light to be able to see where you're... A fun way to get up close and personal with the giants of the forest. Information boards all along the walk add further interest. A well designed and safe way to see your surroundings from a different perspective. We need to go back and do it again at night with the laterns lit.
