Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We visited the Treewalk for an end of School year trip with 120 Year 3 and 4 students. Students and parents had a fantastic time. The trip correspondance with Lexie was excellent as well as Graeme, who greeted our group and reviewed the safety procedures. Over all the customer service, environment and experience were amazing for a large group. Thank you everyone.

We went as a school group and the organisations was amazing. From the booking, to the briefing and the follow up once our tamariki had been through. Graham was fantastic with the kids and his briefing was short but informative. Also dealing with Lexie from administration was easy and sweetness. I'd highly recommend the team fro Redwoods tree walk.

We did the night walk. It was beautiful. I recommend getting the timed ticket entry if you don't like to wait in lines. We got tickets for about 30 minutes after sunset (checked on weather.com to see when sunset would be). That worked out nicely.

This is a must do in Rotorua. There are loads of walks through the forest ranging from 30 minutes to a few hours-all are free, as is the parking. To walk along the wooden and rope walkways up in the trees it will cost you $39 day or night. If you buy a combo ticket it is $60 for both and well worth it. You can do the night walk the same day as the daylight walk or the following day. Great fun and not too scary. Great information boards along the way.

Would give this a 4.5 star. Went for the night walk which was really cool to see and not too hard on the wallet. If your intention is to see trees, plants and the forest would recommend the day.

The night walk seems to be the most popular but after experiencing both day and night I would say the day is way better.

Really good activity to do in Rotorua and the forest is stunning. The walk in the trees is around 700 meters long.

My wife is a little afraid of heights and the most helpful staff member ever named Oliva came up with her and helped her with the confidence to take it on.

Take your time and take it all in. Tickets where $39 NZD per person

The Redwood Treewalk is awesome! Walking among the giant redwoods on those cool bridges is like entering a magical forest or the home of the Ewoks. We did both the day and night walk and found it to be less busy in the day then the night. If you want more time to explore, visit in the day. If you go at night, wear a jacket and expect to wait in line. But when you get to the raised platform at night, all the lights make it pure magic! Either visit requires a camera to capture all of the epic fun!

Visited Oct 2023.
Absolutely breath taking.
The tree walk is incredible and take the time to walk at ground level through the forest on one of the walks as that's where you get some perspective on just how huge some of these trees actually are.
Situated just out of town, parking is available. Our only regret is that we did not have time to do the walk at night when it's all lit up.
Well worth a visit.

We showed up to the red wood tree walk for my daughters birthday. We didn’t realise how busy it would be, the line was a 1 hour wait.
We spoke to the administration about our special needs son who would not handle the wait. We were expecting the staff to reply “sorry we can’t help” But instead they went out of their way to help us. I didn’t catch the name of the lady on the front desk, but she put us in contact with Roimata, who was so kind and helped us get through the lines quickly.
It’s not often we encounter that kind of service. We were also blown away by the staff, encouraging our son along the walk, some even signed “well done” to him.
It was such a great experience, so much kindness and amazing friendliness.
We highly recommend the walk!
