Get there about 30 minutes before sunset. Queues were a lot shorter, once up take you time so that you are still there when it is night. You will see both, but night is better. If you get there on sunset, the line will become really long, meaning a long wait, as only so many people allowed up at the same time.

Kia Ora! We've never had any issues, heard or seen any bats around the treewalk and of the tree species of bat in New Zealand, their populations are either extinct, critically endangered or vulnerable, so you are unlikely to encounter one.

Hi Sapna G, thanks for your question...we cannot allow baby strollers on the treeewalk, however, we have engineered our own version so that infants can also enjoy the treewalk with their families! Kia Ora Mui Hui Y, entrance into the Redwoods Forest is free, but the Redwoods Treewalk starts at $25.00 and is $15.00 for NZ Seniors. Our pricing structure can be found on our website. To access the treewalk there are 4 flight of stairs, which comprise of 32 steps. We look forward to seeing you!

Hi jacqiel2016, thanks for getting in touch with Redwoods Treewalk. The best time to come for the night time treewalk is probably when it is fully dark, so from 8.30 pm onwards. We're currently open until 10.30 pm and the last ticket is sold at 10.00 pm from the Redwoods i-SITE, opposite the treewalk entrance. However, check on our Facebook page (Redwoods Treewalk Rotorua) for the most up to date opening times nearer to when you visit. I would suggest a warm jacket, yes, as the evenings are getting cooler. No need for torches, the treewalk is lit so that you can see where you're going and all the information panels are also illuminated at night. We look forward to welcoming you!
