Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

After browsing through some of the shops like Michael Hill, EB Electronics, etc, we decided to have a warm meal at the food court.
Had noodle meals at Min & Sing, the Asian outlet at the food court. Not only was the noodles unappetising but it was terribly salty n pungent with too much sesame oil. When Chili was asked to drown out the saltyness and pungent taste, we were charged 50c for the size of a teaspoon.
Since we love visiting Rotorua frequently, thi is one outlet we were never having a meal there.

The Central Rotorua Mall is within the precinct is the southern end of the city and is where one can find larger chain stores, retail and boutique shops and eateries. In additional, bigger stores are located in separate buildings spreading across a wide area. It offers free parking and accessible via Fenton, Victoria and Amohau Streets.
It was around 6.30pm. We came by here after our dinner and already most shops were closed, including the stalls in the food court (luckily we already had our dinner at Haru Sushi Bar, a short walk from here. (Please refer to my earlier review of this eatery here too)
There are souvenir and gift shops (generally operated and run by the Koreans), fashion and sports. The key anchor store here is The Warehouse departmental store (just like the Target in Australia) where one could grab household, lifestyle, electrical, toys, fashion and shoes, furniture etc items here and it was crowded then as people were doing their last minute Christmas shopping at Warehouse.
There was a central location within the mall where several beautifully decorated Christmas Trees had been erected for photography purpose together with "Santa Claus" at specific timing but we missed it. So we decided to take our own photographs with the trees there!
There is also a Countdown supermarket next to it and a good place to grab up groceries items. There is also another Countdown supermarket diagonally opposite the road and also a Park and Save supermarket with petrol kiosk next to it, near is near our hotel, Sudima. (Please refer to my earlier review of this hotel here too)
Around the area are other major stores such as the Warehouse Stationery, Farmers, Harvey Norman and Rebel Sports etc spreading across a wide area around the carpark. But most were closed when we were there.
There are also food outlets around, such as Pizza Hut, The Cheese Cake Shop, Burger King and McDonalds, Chinese and Seafood restaurants etc (Please refer to my earlier review of some of these hotel here too)
Generally, this place is quite like "a stop for shopping and dinning" all "under one location" and can easily keep one occupied here for hours.
However, do note that, as the store buildings are spread across widely, be prepared to walk around from one to another as it was quite warm for us to walk around as the sky was still quite bright with sunshine even at 7pm!

Looks to be like other shopping malls we've been to. Spent a couple hours wandering around & ended up back in town.

For some reason, my traveling companion wanted to go to the mall to check out souvenirs. So glad he did. We lucked out buying New Zealand shirts for everyone at very reasonable prices in one of the major stores in the mall.
We also discovered the savoury buns at Baker's Delight. (We returned for a 2nd visit!)
They have a large food court. We noticed several tour groups stopped here.

Well, nothing special. Even though there's a bit of everything. We had some yummy ice-cream. Rather small townish.

Not a really big mall by city standards but has the main chain stores. Tidy and well presented. Plenty of parking and well situated in town.

It's great to have almost anything you might want at your finger tips--restaurants, bars, shopping, souvenirs, etc. There are more food options that you know what do with them (and some look like they are barely making a living). The canopy above the street shops is nice to keep the scorching sun off you. I wish there were young artists busking on the corners, more public art, and greater connection to the Maori community. While tourism is thriving here, I get a feeling that the town is on the brinks of not doing well. I would encourage the business association and community leaders to rethink what makes Rotorua famous and get back to the basics.

We actually liked this place as it was clean, some interesting shops and a great little food court. We ordered chicken and it was amazing. When we were here, the place was buzzing and we loved it.
