Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Had meals in 3 different restaurants and they were all excellent except the fish on one occasion was overcooked and chewy. Service was generally very good.

Venue opens at lunchtime closing late in the evening. A fun venue and great atmosphere.

Fun atmosphere, lots of good food options, a little bit pricier than in town, but a fair deal for the people watching and social experience. It's a great idea that someone in Rotorua had, and it really works on many levels.

On a 5 day visit to Rotorua, we had two very nice meals there. One evening it was very hot, and none of the restaurants had A/C working. So we picked a restaurant on the shady side and sat inside, which all worked fine.

That said, Rotorua has a LOT of great food in the Central Business District. The Asian influence in particular is excellent, and the breadth of the food offerings makes it a real find for foodies. So don't forget to spread the wealth around a bit to other deserving entities.

Having a space like this is really great especially for tourists. In this short section of covered walkway you have several legitimate restaurant options. As retired folks, we found the area a bit loud and would suggest to those that come here that don’t find what they are looking for, to just keep walking south down the same road where we found several other very quiet restaurant options that would have served us very well.

This covered block was filled with restaurants and was less than a five minute walk from our hotel. There was a lot of different food options ranging from steaks, Italian, Thai and Indian to name a few. The May time was very quiet so the restaurants were not very busy and none of the menus really interested us. The only place we ended up eating at was at Lady Jane's Ice Cream Parlour, where we enjoyed three large scoops of their premium ice creams.

There's a decent range of resurants here, with lots of options for dietary requirements. Everything shuts quite early. There's a to kill a mocking bird themed restaurant on eat Street, which is really insensitive.

Very touristy but that is what I am sure the town wanted. A good variety of restaurants with some of them having bands playing. That created for our group of seven a noise problem. The first night we visited it appeared that every restaurant was packed.

We also found that prices seemed a little high for what you seemingly get. While in three nghts we never had dinner there we did do lunch one day at Papa Tazio. That was a much more sedate experience.

If you enjoy sitting outside to people watch and listen to some band cranking out tunes, this is the place for you. For our group we just found it to be a little over the top,

We had Italian, and my husbands pizza was awful, especially for the price tag. However, the restaurant did not charge him for it when he complained after they asked him what he thought of it. He left most of it. My meal was okay but had an awful after taste.

My wife and I explored here during our stop in Rotorua. I liked the variety of restaurants and bars. Some of the bars had live music when we visited on a Thursday evening. And we found a very good ice cream shop Lady Jane's.

Eat Street is a triumph. It's a short street packed with a collection of eateries including pubs, burger bars, a steak house, fine dining - and everything in between. Looks pretty too with all the lights strung along the top. Definitely worth a stop.

As a visitor to Rotorua, I was genuinely impressed by the concept of a street being devoted to restaurants and bars of all sorts. It was clean and tidy and busy, even at Covid level 2. People were happy and obviously hungry and thirsty, while the presence of Maori Wardens and security made sure nobody's evening was going to be ruined by unwanted behavioural issues.
Great place to visit in a very vibrant provincial city.
