We perform checks on reviews.
Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We were pleasantly surprised by the variety of yummy food at this night market. Plenty of stalls to choose from. Lively atmosphere esp with the live music from buskers at the two ends of the night market. Best to go early before it gets too crowded though, else be prepared to eat standing up.

Every Thursday evening the night market comes to town. It is mainly food stall from all over the world - we sampled Argentinian, Filipino and French. In addition there are some craft stalls and some live entertainment, Cuban street dance and a rock band while we were there. It has a relaxed atmosphere and we had a great time wandering around for an hour or so.

Our tour guide mentioned this weekly activity might be going on if the weather wasn't too bad. Lucky us the rain didn't affect things too much. Short walk from hotel to enjoy the street scene. Lots of local people this time of year. Go for the street scene or get a snack.

The night markets were recommended to us by several locals, shop assistants etc. The Facebook page and various advertising informed us that the markets were "Showcasing the best produce, artisan products, jewellery, homewares and art". There was 1 fresh produce stall, 1 clothing stall, 1 jewellery store, 2 wood craft stalls and the rest was around 25 food stalls. We ended up buying products from the mass amounts of souvenir shops along the main street because there was barely anything on offer at the markets other than food. Big let down, as it should be advertised as a food market if that is the majority of stalls available.

The night market is the thing to do in this otherwise sleepy town! The night before? Empty streets by 9pm. But when the Night Market is going on, the place ignites with live music, food, vendors, fruit stands, etc.

Walk around for an hour, listen to some music, buy some kiwifruits or pastries, and just take in the vibe of this popular night activity in downtown Rotorua.

Great range of food stalls, nice chilled live music and arts/crafts thrown in too. A relaxed and delicious find for our Thursday dinner.

We decided to have our dinner here, which I am so pleased we did. I was told that some of the local resturants come out sell food. Which is great, as you know you're not going to get sick from the food. The council seem to put up the tents, which looks so lovely also having plenty of seating to eat your food. If you're around on the Thursday night from 5pm, it's a must.

I was wanting to support local artisans and bring home some brilliant pieces of unique goods however was extremely let down when the only jewellery stall was imported crap, there was one wool jumper stall and 2 wooden stalls amongst the insane amount of food stalls. The wooden craft was simply amazing mind you. There were loads of people and so much potential for artists to make money, such a shame, we just picked a bad night I guess.
