There were several staff people on hand to answer questions and ring up sales. There is a good selection of souveniers and a lot of pamphlets for activities, sights, and accommodations, etc., in the area. Centrally located (the Mana/Naked buses stop right outside). Public toilet facilities.

Ok - so I wasn't here to find out about the best backpacker lodgings, trips or things to do - I simply wanted to know where the Jean Batten memorial was located as I just couldn't find it (turns out it's right behind the information centre in the closed off construction site) however, both girls on duty at the time... Large information centre in attractive building. Staff were very helpful and informative. We came away with a souvenir t-shirt and some free maps and info to help us decide the best places to visit for a hot mineral bath on route to Lake Taupo.

We were in Rotorua for a couple of days and taking all sorts of transportation. We didn't book our trip (family was fantastic doing this for us), but we were at a loss to know where we caught buses, etc., and well...simply how to navigate in a new town in another country. The folks at i-SITE were brilliant. They answered... More

Large I site centre with lots of info and staff to assist you in planning and booking your choices for excursions. Public toilets available. This is also the place where the Intercity bus stops.

When we entered the i-SITE a member of staff adressed us directly if we needed any help. Since we wanted to get information on tramping tracks she referred us to her colleague of the DOC. Her colleague gave us very good advice about our planned hike and offered a few alternatives that turned out to be really amazing.

i have been here before and decided to stop off again to gather some new information on Doc (Department of Conservation). Several staff walked past me without asking if I needed help, then I decided to ask for help. Once I did the lady went the extra mile to give me the brochures I asked for and some paper to... More
