Great track and awesome views of this special place. The mountain biking offers skill grades for everyone.

An easy walk on a well maintained track with beautiful scenery. I found the continuous noise of many jetskis to significantly detract from the experience. There was little if any bird song, maybe the bird life had gone to find a quieter more peaceful location.

Ordinary but nice. The walk around the Blue Lake is a nice gentle piece of exercise while on holiday and if we lived here we would probably walk (a couple of circuits at a time) from time to time. There is little or no evidence of bird life and there are few good views of the lake. The bush does smell good though. Having been so insipid so far I must add I find the Blue lake water and beach environment just fabulous. We have spent days lounging on the beach and swimming round the buoys and can highly recommend to anyone who enjoys warm clear lake water.

The track is very well maintained and easy. It covers most of the blue lake and at one point the green lake can be seen.

Loved this easy hike around the beautiful Blue Lake. We had a wide range of ages in our group and all managed it without difficulty. There were some mountain bikers coming the opposite direction which was a tight squeeze, but mostly there was plenty of space. Lots of lovely places to stop for photos and plenty of shade under the bush, which we appreciated on a very hot NZ Summer day.

Great Lake walk. My wife and I walked with our 2yo daughter. She wasn’t able to walk the whole way but I had our backpack and carried her for some if the way. It took us about 2hrs with stops for snacks and ‘toddler pace’ walking. Our total walk time was 1.5hrs. We had a n enjoyable lunch by the lake from the Airstream cafe with coffee and chicken nuggets and chips. The coffee was also very good

Amazing short walk. I have done this as a child and it had been nearly 25 years since I had visited the Blue Lake. It was wonderful to come back and do it again. It is an easy track, having been 7 months pregnant when I did it, no problems.

We were in a massive group with AATKings and just drove around the Blue Lake and the road gets quite rocky and dips up and down as it winds through the bush and forestry besides beautiful blue water.

A fantastic walk for all ages and fitness levels. The lake is beautiful with plenty of free parking and great for swimming.
Pack a picnic lunch and make a day of it.

Hi,
Can you please give me some more details re the lookout.
We are hiring a car from Tauranga to Wai o tapu for the day.
Is this within range?
We would also like to see the Redwoods.
Thanks

What would be the cheapest way to get there by public transport etc? Or a cheap tour? :)

Can't add to these, I'm afraid. The Rototua Duck is probably your best option if you don't want to hire a car.
