Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This operator sold his vans during Covid and has not run a shuttle or transport service since. He is now in another industry.

Just back from a great half day out with the fam-bam at Waimangu volcanic valley. We’d expected a pleasant walk with a few bubbling pools but the geology, thermal activity, history and scenery far surpassed our expectations. Highlights were the Inferno crater, boat trip to see mini geysers and being directly over where the pink and white terraces are now buried- awesome!

We needed a shuttle to take us and bikes to do te ara ahi bike track. Keith went above just getting us from a to b, he showed us many of the geothermal sites on our way there. We got lost and even called Keith who put us back on track. He is such an asset to the company and just put 110% in to ensuring we had so much knowledge of the local area! Giving us things to look out for during out bike ride

Our shuttle driver Keith was very knowledgeable and friendly. He showed us many local attractions on the way to Wai-O-Tapu and told us about the history of the area we drove through. I would recommend his service!

This was the best and up close time we spent in the valley looking at Geo Thermals. The boat cruise should not be missed as you watch native birds, steaming cliffs, eruption sites and craters. We saw many eruptions and amazing view on our cruise. This is a definitely one boat cruise cannot be missed.

I view this as the best of the geothermal experiences. We did go to Hell's gate whose attraction is ability to have a mud bath. This experience was less hot and more walkable with shade and very informative. We also enjoyed the Thermal Land Shuttle efficiency and drivers.

Go. Go and make sure you have plenty of time!
We had a good time and saw many beautiful things here. The natural sights are quite stunning
We were in a hurry which led to stressing a bit so don't do that.
Note that the geyser in the morning is a logistic horror. And it is not a natural occurrence so we felt it was quite unnecessary.

Our guide Akira was very informative and passionate about the tour. He was prompt with pickup and had a good itinerary and time management.
The thermal gardens were self guided, but that was easy to follow the general directions

Keith from the Thermal Land Shuttle drove us to Wai-O-Tapo and Rainbow mountain today. We enjoyed travelling with him very much. Not only is he a very good and safe driver, he also provides his guest with additional information on the geographical, historical and ethical history or Rotorua and its surrounding, which is super interesting. On top of all that, Keith is humourous and made sure that its passengers knew all the inside tips. I highly recommend choosing this local company!! Thanks a lot Thermal Shuttle!

Took the 12p shuttle from the YHA to Wai-O-Tapu today. It was seamless and reliable. The tour driver gave interesting information along the way and even stopped at additional places for us to take pictures (i.e. mud pools, Lake Rotorua) which made it even more worthwhile. I’m traveling solo so i had the option of renting an expensive rental car for the day for the places Thermal Land Shuttles provides or going with Thermal Land Shuttles. So glad I went with them instead!! Plus i got tips for where to take the best pictures which i wouldn’t have known on my own. Thank you so much TLS!!

I am travelling to Auckland next week with my daughter and we would like to see Rotorua. We don't drive. What is the most economical way for us to get to Rotorua and perhaps do a tour with your shuttle? Should we stay a night at Rotorua or just fo a day trip? I would like to visit hot springs, my daughter wants to see glow worm caves.

Hi Cherie,
Probably the most economical way of getting to Rotorua from Auckland would be catching a bus either intercity or mana bus. We have tours that depart Rotorua in the morning and in the afternoon so depends on what time your bus gets in to see hot springs. We recommend you can stay in Rotorua there is lots to do here to much to see in just one day.
