Q E HEALTH RACHEL POOLS
Jul 2020
The Rachel pools, unfortunately, have been going from bad to worse
There was a time when they used to have both pools open from opening time but recently they seem to have only one open (hot pool) with the tepid pool opening around lunch time. This is not advertised on their website
They advertise that they have 2 pools on their website one hot up to 40C and one tepid 35C
I renewed my membership this week and renewed for a monthly pass not yearly as wanted to see if anything changed since reopening. Sadley not Went to the Rachel pools yesterday approx. 8.30 am only one pool open 38.8c this morning (9 am) Hot pool was at 42.1C Tepid pool was closed. ?????????????? I question why the pool was open????
If they follow the Health regulations 40c is the maximum safe temperature although it is not recommended to use at this temperature.
There are no lifeguards on the premises. I tried getting in but could not make it past the 2nd step.
They have all these rules and regulations but hey what about the safety of their customers or do we not come into the equation. The walls of the men's changing room need a good clean up which one would have expected they would have done during lock down.
I do apologize for venting my frustration at the receptionist.

Thank you Alan - we have discussed this matter with you and have come to a mutual understanding. As noted , we have clear signs that there is no lifeguard but constant camera surveilance. We follow all recommendations and guidlines for thermal water, however we follow our own policies and procedures due to our own locally sourced thermal water. You have a valid point on the opening times of the pool - this is being ammended to show hot pool available at openings hours (unless advised due to natural nature of the water) with the tepid pool as soon as possible after to allow for cleaning and filling. We have always stated that working with a natural resource means temperatures and flow can fluctuate - we always endeavour to give notice where possible. Thank you for apologising to the staff member involved.

Lovely Aix massage
Dec 2019
An Aix massage is an amazing experience! A tailored massage under multiple jets of water, you feel cocooned and looked after. QE is in an easy-to-find location and the staff are professional and lovely. The place looks a bit outdated but don't let that put you off.

Best massage ever
May 2019
I will recommand the Fabulous Aix Massage! Under thermal water.
For those who just want to relax, they have two pools with different temperatures. You can choose by reading the degrees written on a board or try the warmest first and then go to the coolest one after. The water is changed everyday.
The warm effect on you is so relaxing and let your skin so soft.
Don’t stay more than 20 min.

Thank you for your kind words. We truly know how lucky we are to offer such a service with a fabulous natural resource - glad you enjoyed it! (you can alternate between pools as we encourage limiting the hotter pool to 20mins but can cool down in the tepid pool then return to the hotter one).

Try AIX Massage with water
Mar 2019
AIX massage is the best massage I have had at QE. You get massaged as warm healing water gently streams down your body. I almost dozed off, it felt soooo good!! Great way to melt all your pain and tensions away. It is a bit price-y but worth it. Booking an appointment is required.

needs work
Sep 2019
The spa and therapy areas are great. The soak pools and associated change rooms are below average. Considering the number of disabled people who attend there are no disabled facilities in the change rooms. The shower in the men's area is a disgrace and if OHS reviewed it the place would be shut down.

pain management programme waste of time and service provided
Mar 2019 • Solo
I have chronic pain from a back injury in which my specialist suggested I try the ACC pain management programme at QE health. The physio therapist appointed to me was inconsistent - would go weeks without contact and follow up appointments in which she would then extend the programme in which would require further funding from ACC. Also not impressed with some of her physio techniques, not once did she look at tension areas or possible imbalances- it was literally like she read my case history and went from there without listening to what I had to say about what makes the pain worse, starting with exercises which were aggravating the intense pain I already have everyday. since finishing this programme her reports said I was inconsistent! WHAT A JOKE!! when you physically can not do the exercises due to pain, I would be in tears when I did them EVERYDAY!
Very angry and upset with this experience!
Waste of time and ACC funding!
