Normally I ride non electric and have for years but this time my wife asked me to hire an E bike and join her on hers. Wow what a ride, we smashed out 30kms in under two hours and that included going to the trig on Split Enz. We road so many trails in such a short time
It definitely changes the options and you don’t need to shuttle. The crew at Mtb Rotorua were excellent I would highly recommend them

We, a father and 3 teenage children, rented bikes for 2 hours and then just let rip on the multifarious forest tracks. The bikes were in good condition and - most importantly for riding of this nature - the gears worked well. The staff were friendly. I thought the prices were good value ($39 for 2 hours of hire). But there's no doubt that the star of the show is the network of forest pathways, with different levels of difficulty for all. If you like bike-riding at all, I would honestly advise to make this experience one of your top priorities in visiting Rotorua.

We hired big travel 180mm Giant Reign SX's (2020 version) from Mountain Bike Rotorua twice within a few days on our recent trip. My son is 14 and I'm 49. Communication is excellent from all the team, no matter who you speak with. I'd been researching and booking bikes from Sydney before we arrived. We met Declan at Skyline, his service is world class, where nothing was a problem and my experience with Ben has been the same. Bikes are in great condition, well maintained. After researching for the best bikes for our needs; DH and freeride, go no further than Mountain Bike Rotorus, they are awesome !

Really need to work on the customer service skills of your staff, bikes were booked for 10am for 2 hrs from the skyline gondola from your website. We were there early to be ready for the 10am gondola start and we had another tour booked at 12:30pm and had to try and fit some lunch in. Rang them to make sure the bikes were going to be there on time and was reassured by that the bikes were going to be there 15mins before 10am. The staff member turned up at 10:05am, when we approached him saying we were on a tight time schedule we were told to wait as he had to set things up and would only take 5mins. 10:15am approached him again asking why this was taking so long and was ignored while he stared at the computer screen. 10:25am Mike one of the bike patrol staff asked if we were ok and asked your staff member what was going on and he help us get fitted on the bikes and we finally got away somewhat stressed out by the whole situation. The bikes were really good and the tracks were amazing. If you offer a product please be onsite 15mins before to get things ready for your customers as you would expect of them.

We come here often. Always get bananas, filled rolls, choc or fish, muffins and great coffee at the container cafe. But it has gone and there is a new one in the new building. Today at 11.45 there was nothing but a few pies in their cabinets. Place was pretty empty. Looked like you had to order sit down meals. Not what mtb riders and kids want. Please bring back the container cafe with fully stocked yummy healthy ( and some treat ) food. 😢

Hired an electric bike for my 10 yea old son. Instead of stops and waiting for him I’m asking him not to get too far ahead of me. He loves being able to ride further and longer and we can work on his riding technique as he’s happy and not tired.

We rented a couple of bikes from the team at Mountain Bike Rotorua and had a couple of great days in the forest. The guys at the shop were really helpful, made sure the boys had the right bikes and set them all up perfectly for a great day in the woods. Service with a smile and some great advice on the best trails for us to hit we were off.

I did a three day bike hire self guided tour of the Redwood forest / bike park with Mountain Bike Rotorua. Honestly one of my favourite adventure activities I have done in NZ. Their bikes are good spec, suitable for pretty much any rider from beginner to advanced, and really well maintained. Was an easy and straightforward pick up and drop off. They also give good advice tailored to your standard. Had an awesome time and fully recommend the experience and their hire service.

Spent the afternoon in the squad shuttle with Brian getting taken to lots of great trail heads. Brian did a great job in measuring our ability and keenness and getting us to the best trails for our riding abilities. got maximum riding time for our time snd money well worth doing

Incredible, authentic forest trail only defined by wear as opposed to commercially laid pathways.
We only have over an hour to bike so did the so-called kids trail twice! So much FUN! I wonder how adventurous the “adult trails” might be after that experience.
Bike and tyre quality is high so whilst you are dropping down hill parts and biking over big branches, rocks and debris at speed, you are still safe :).
Great value too for $39.00 for 2-hours.
All three of us loved it!

Oui. I saw children riding bikes. Mountain Bike Rotorua sell maps for 5$ with specific tracks for kids and all the tracks have colours as to know the severity.
