Highly recommend the ultimate canopy tour! I dislike heights but found that even those terrified of them will feel safe on this trip. Josh & Cody did everything for us, including slowing us down on the other end of the line and telling dad jokes to make us feel at ease at all times. They also taught us a great deal about NZ's amazing native species as we tramped through the forest, especially about the incredible flightless birds who still (in some but sadly not all cases) roam the islands today. It was the perfect foundational experience on our two week trip to NZ. Thanks team!

What a way to spend your holiday! Learning about our special native forest here and the native species that live in it! It's great to hear that Josh and Cody were a great help with the nerves and that you felt safe at all times as that is our number one priority here. Thanks for sharing your amazing review with us!

What incredible value for money. Our guides Harry and Isaac made our experience feel relaxing , hilarious and very safe while being exceptionally professional.
The zip lining was awesome fun, but the learning around conservation work was also excellent.
We are a couple in our late 50's and 60's and would highly recommend this activity.
Thanks

Guides Kopi & Luke were the best. Despite a fear of heights I felt I was in safe hands, so felt the fear and did it anyway, and the result was exhilarating. The group was great and, for those 3 hours, was transported to a world of serenity; fun; adventure, where I actually conquered one of my fears, hence a sense of achievement, and felt a renewed sense of responsibility towards the flora and fauna of NZ. This is an inspirational conservation project, highly recommended, and what's more, it is satisfying to know that my participation actually contributed to the on going conservation of the native forest. The resurgence of birdlife is gratifying and I saw robins, kingfisher, tui, fantails and heard many more, including the shining cuckoo. I appreciated the non compromising safety measures of Luke & Kopi and used the waiting time on the platforms to admire and soak in the serenity of the forest, realising that this was going to be only time that I would get to view the canopy from above. Spectacular.

What a great attitude, well done for being brave! It's awesome to hear how inspired you were, we couldn't do all our conservation work without you! Sounds like you had such an awesome adventure on tour with Luke and Kopi, and you were able to spot so many beautiful birds! Thanks again, we would love to see you back in canopy again one day!

Our family loved it so much they want to book the higher and longer Ultimate Tour. We saw native birds up-close, including the nocturnal Ruru (Morepork). Heavy rain did not impact on the experience, possibly making the forest more beautiful. The pest trapping programme helps protect this native paradise (your ticket helps fund this programme) We will recommend this to all our friends and visitors.

We geared up, went w/ 2 guides, drove to the entrance, walked in and started the ziplines (6 total?). The guides were fun/prepared us safely, were full of energy, had a quirky cheeky NZ sense of humor. Learned about forest /fauna, and had a blast! Only complaint: There is a tree that is about 20 ft in front of you and about 5' to the left of one of the zips. They warn you that it is important to steer clear of this tree. You must walk gently off the edge of the platform, not jump and dont lean at an angle away from it. We all did it safely but to be honest, it felt unsafe. You are VERY close to that tree going VERY fast. At the other end we were told someone was knocked unconscious 3 months back after hitting it. You are literally going 40 mph/ have no control of your motion once zipping. It felt dangerous. Problem is that because the forest has some special situation/status where it is illegal to cut a tree, you cannot do much about it other than move this whole zip which would be expensive for operator. If you do as you are told, you SHOULD be fine. What if on your way off the platform you slip and thus "jump" or 'lean to one side"? What if you are a 7 year old kid and dont get the importance of following the directive? What if you are so scared you (it is a bit scary) you inadvertantly jump? It is a real problem and should be addressed. Beyond that it was a great experience. Slightly adrenaline-y and incredibly beautiful. They give you pics too afterwards which is so nice!

Thanks so much for taking the time to write your review. We love hearing you had a blast with our fun and energetic guides and learnt a few things! Safety is our number one priority and we can assure you no one has ever been knocked unconscious on our tours. We have talked to our guides to ensure they don’t use comments like this to ensure our guests follow instructions. We take safety very seriously and many guests comment about how comfortable they feel on tour – we’re sorry you didn’t feel this way. While there are some trees you fly close to, this is part of the experience and none are at an unsafe distance. We hope you enjoy the photos taken on tour and that you made some unforgettable memories! Thanks again.

We did this today and it was AMAZING! Our guides T and Z were so fun, provisional and knowledgeable. Felt 100% safe whole time, and zip lines through and above the trees was just mind blowing. We had kids aged 7, up to adults aged 50 and we all loved every second. Not just for the action and adrenalin, but also knowing your fees are helping to support, protect and rebuild the forrest! They need your support and you get an amazing time! WINNING! 😎❤

Friends had done this tour four times snd urged us to do it too. We were not disappointed.

Flying high above the forest on 1.2 km of zip line was amazing enough. The accompanying background conservation story deepened our appreciation, and for me, feeding the North Island robins by hand topped it off.
Natalie and Zania were the perfect guides.
Energetic and reassuring, patient, knowledgeable and with an excellent sense of humour. Their positivity was infectious.

It is great to see that NZers are to some extent filling in the tourist gaps in this business created by Covid.... here’s hoping that trend continues.

I can recommend!

Thanks to Scott and Natalie our tour guides who made this adventure so enjoyable. They were both professional, knowledgeable, and great fun. The pace of the multiple zipline across and through the canopy of the virgin native forest was perfect.
Stunning vista, plenty of adrenaline, and a great way to get educated about the beauty of the New Zealand native flora and fauna. Highly recommend this activity to anyone that visits Rotorua, great family experience, solo, or couples. We had a mixed group of 10 people and they were all awesome.

Massive thank you to Zania (queen of the forest haha) and Cheynne !! Was such an awesome experience for myself and my family. The guides honestly made this experience so easy and fun, we all enjoyed ourselves loads and felt super safe the whole time. They also managed to zip line a cake halfway around the tour which was super nice of them and showed just how skilful they were ! Lastly it was super cool to learn about the reserve in terms of conservation and wildlife. Highly recommend doing this experience. Thanks again guys!!!

My cousin and I visited Rotorua from Sydney, Australia and went on the Original Canopy Tour with guides Kaitlin and Nicky. Our group was an eclectic bunch of Kiwi locals and tourists and the half-day was filled with interesting facts, wonderful views, and some good laughs. Kaitlin and Nicky were superb guides — Kaitlin was super energetic, and kept us laughing the entire time (while also ensuring we were safe & educated on the forest’s conservation efforts). Nicky was very informative and shared some interesting stories about the bird life, including about little Timmy! They perfectly complimented each other’s style & made us feel comfortable and safe the entire time!

We will definitely be back for round 2 next time we’re in NZ!
