What an awesome trip. Fantastic views you can only imagine until you see it in person. White Island kept in its completely natural state which is just beautiful. Our pilot was very informative and made the trip. I would recommend it to all who want something really different and out of this world. A must.

Did the Mount Tarawera/White Island trip, which is about 3.5 hours. Time flew by and absolutely loved the experience of getting to visit and active volcano and then land on a volcano responsible for forming the Rotorua area as it is today - amazing. Edine was a great pilot, happy to share what she knew. Would definitely do again.

Eddie is the perfect pilot..she flies the helicopter like there is no such thing as air currents. Smooth! She made sure all of our questions were answered, took photos of us, and explained everything. Worth every penny. Be sure to dress warm if breezy outside. So exciting to stand next to bubbling, smoking mud pots while volcanic lake roared in background. Since Eddie visits almost every day, she sees the volcanic changes before the geologists and can tell you he history of every vent.

So the wife and me were keen to do a helicopter ride, and what better place to take a ride than over the thermal wonderland around Rotorua? The landing on Mt Tarawera was an experience in itself. Plenty of choice in the destinations/tours on offer. Definitely a value for money outing in my book!
