Polynesian Spa is New Zealand’s leading international day spa. In a picturesque, tranquil setting overlooking Lake Rotorua, visitors can enjoy a wonderful fusion of relaxing hot spring pool bathing, sumptuous spa and massage therapies and picturesque lake views. Polynesian Spa has the use of two types of hot mineral water, one alkaline and one acidic, that are the unique point of difference of the operation. Many thousands of visitors to the spa have attested to the remedial effect the hot mineral waters have on such ailments as muscular complaints, arthritis and rheumatism. The Priest and Radium springs are most noted in this respect. We invite you to experience this World Top Ten Spa (natural/thermal/medical), as voted by readers of the prestigious Conde Nast Traveller magazine for several years and once again in 2011. We look forward to welcoming you to Polynesian Spa.

Spa day

A very pleasant few hours even though it rained. Relaxed in the almost empty pools (I got there early) good massage and lunch thrown in.

What great experience. We paid for a couples mud wrap/massage. In the price you get access to the adults only thermal spas, we made the most of it and spent about 2.5 hours trying the different temperature spas. How sublime this is a must for every couple visiting Rotorua. We felt so good after the mud wrap our two masseuse... More

V expensive BUT bear in mind that you cannot buy entry to the whole spa; it's all sectioned off into (5?) smaller bits. We paid for the best bit (lakeside) but there were 5 sun loungers for tens of dozens of people - the pools are hot (!) but not particularly interesting places to hang out....very overrated place....

So, leaving the kids with Dad for breakfast in Rotorua, I escaped for an hour or so to the spa. Wowsers! I've been to many spas, but this is beautiful! Quiet too at 10am in the morning. Very reasonable too to get in. Changing areas are clean and tidy and lockable storage available. The spa has the original pools which... More

I always try to get to the Polynesian Spa when I am in Rotorua. Great amenities and the different temperature pools are great. Go to the adult area if you don't want to be around children. Also go in the late evening after all of the tour buses leave for a quieter and less crowded experience. It is even a... More

A real tourist trap and the prices reflect this. We had a Spa which involved a massage for me, a lime mud treatment and facial for the Russian. Going to the Spa gives you access to the private pools area with all the supposed health benefits associated with the mineral pools. I love relaxing in hot pools but my limit... More

We were in Rotorua for a couple of days, luckily as this place is very busy. The private rooms are very nicely presented, pay the money for the private rooms, it's not much difference.

Clean, up to date, good variety of spas and sizes. Changing rooms were very good and clean. Hired towels which were great quality. Only thing was the price. Little on the steep side.

This is a fantastic geothermal spa. For $29 you have access to several indoor and outdoor hot spring pools for an unlimited time. Beautiful views of Lake Rotorua. A must do activity for the area, we felt very revitalised afterwards

We noticed a few changes since last year. First there were the large signs about no music or talking on mobile phones plus ones about not spitting in several languages. This is usually an indication that a problem has occurred and since this was a peaceful area with none of these issues before before it was jarring. Second was the... More
