Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This course set out amongst geysers and mud ponds is really challenging - lost balls a plenty. It is an interesting course as the first nine holes are totally different from the last nine holes.
The course was in great condition and the staff were really great nothing too much trouble. The clubs they provided were excellent and together with the bag were almost brand new. We were told all are cleaned and polished before being rehired. The Club Professional was very helpful as he offered us a Lions deal, being travelling Lions supporters, so the four of us had a round of golf plus buggies(carts) and club hire for under £60 absolutely outstanding vale. They really do appreciate visitors so much so they gave a meal and drink voucher value about £12 so we had a beer and the best beef burger I have had for months. Well done Rotorua Golf Club and thank you for making us so welcome. This also applies to local golfers on the course who gave us tips about the course

A different experience for us.
This was a great experience, the course follows the contours of the natural environment so there are very few level stances. The greens had been cored so I couldn't comment on the quality of them but they seemed hard and quick. The odd thing for us was the tee blocks aiming over the previous green. A little nerve racking when your feeling off and someone is putting on the green directly in front of you.
Friendly pro and staff. I would play here again anytime.

My wife and I played the Rotorua Golf Course on the perfect summer's day. Friendly staff, well kept course, good rental equipment, spectacular scenery and nice cold beers waiting for us at the 19th hole. A little bit expensive given we were renting clubs as well but absolutely worth it.

We feel being discriminated at this golf course, as if you are from Rotorua-the green fees $30 in large on the advertising, but if you are from Hamilton just a few kilometres away-it is $45.00. I jus wonder why do we pay New Zealand golf afilliation fees if we can be so discriminated against Rororua's golfers. Course is nothing special, hilly, the marking and signing is quite bad- got lost a few times. There are some other golf courses around Rotorua-their fees are far less and people around are friendlier. Enjoyed playing Lakeview Rotorua-cheaper and better designed.

We are very sorry you felt discriminated against, as we welcome guests from around New Zealand and across the globe. Our green fees and local rates are in line with the national average and what is expected from our local players as a local golf club. Thank you for letting us know that you couldn’t follow the signage, we will look into what improvements can be made.
Thank you for your review, we appreciate your feedback as this allows us to make continual improvements at the Rotorua Golf Club.

we had no rain that was forecast thank god, this course is a challenge and the landscape is thermal, beware if the ball goes in the water.

Myself and friends played here yesterday , we arrived at 0830 and we were hungry and hadn't booked a tee time, we were met by the pro who couldn't have been more friendly and helpful, after a hearty inexpensive breakfast we played 18 holes on a course in excellent condition and every hole an exciting challenge . Awesome views , consistent greens and friendly green keeping staff. We will be back as soon as we can be. Great service from the hospitality team to. An absolute credit to NZ . Ranks in my top 5 . Thanks again.

This course is very easy walking with a couple of interesting holes. Because of the natural geothermal activity in the area it adds a whole new meaning to hazards. If you knock your ball into a steaming bush DO NOT go looking for it.

What a great course. The club was walking distance from my hotel in the central city which was great. The course itself was challenging and the views around the place were incredible. Quickly became one of my favourite courses in New Zealand. Loved the thermal activity, felt like I was playing on another planet! Will be back for sure.

The Rotorua Golf Course was excellent to play on, we loved seeing the thermal activity around the course and the people were friendly too. Location is great as really close to town and all the hotels and motels in Rotorua.
