About
The experience of rolling down a hill inside a giant inflatable ball has been an iconic adventure experience since ZORB was invented at this very location way back in 1997! To this day, Rotorua is the ONLY location in New Zealand where you can experience this amazingly fun and bizarre bucket list activity. Please note as of 17 May 2019, ZORB Rotorua was recently purchased back by the original inventors of ZORB (Andrew and Dave Akers) the old ZORB site at 149 Western Road, Rotorua has been permanently closed and our new site (previously known as OGO Rotorua) and is undertaking a rebrand back to ZORB. Please bear in mind when reading old reviews! As the inventors and creators of ZORB, we are excited to have our brand back and our mission is to give every single customer world class customer service, health and safety and value for money when experiencing the ridiculous hilarity that is rolling down a hill in a giant inflatable ball.

    AWESOME!!!!!!
Awesome! Awesome!! AWESOME!!! We were here on 24/03, did the 09:00 downhill ball rolling, did all four and they were epic!!! Really not as scary as it may look, not at all, completely safe, comfortable and fun!! Loved it! Thanks to the team for looking after us, Charlotte, Leane, Taruia and Koan! Definitely recommend!!!

Don’t be scared. It’s fun! Really fun!!
If you like water slides, you will love Zorbing. It’s a bit pricey, so extend your time by soaking in the hot tubs and watching other people come down. And if there’s a line at the top, let other people go first and enjoy the view. There is a little terrace with a tub ( the tub wasn’t open. Maybe it’s only open when it’s busier) up there , and you can look out over Rotorua and watch the other riders start their roll. We did the straight track with two inside first. Wheeeeee! Then we did the Sidewinder separately. I laid on my back and held my knees so I was spinning around inside. Whoo hoooo! I got some water up my nose. But I didn’t care! So don’t be scared. Just go do it already!

    Pricey, but awesome fun!
Definitely a pricey experience, but a whole lotta fun! 28F & 28M couple and went in hesitant but thoroughly enjoyed the experience! It was actually way more fun than we expected! If you can afford it, definitely recommend!

    Great for kids and adults
Definitely recommend for both adults and kids. My 6 year old tried all 3 rides (in a zrob with an adult, not by himself) and keeps asking to come back for more. The basic ride is actually one of the better ones.

    Great fun!
Located on Mount Ngongotaha you arrive and show the workers at the front desks your tickets. Very quickly you are shown to a changing room (if you haven't changed into your togs yet. I think people outside NZ would call togs a 'Bathing Suit'). If, however, you are already changed prior to arrival you will be shown straight to a queue where you wait for a mini-van to bring you up to the hill. There are many different tracks that you can ZORB on. I personally like the Sidewinder track the best and would very much recommend it.

    Fun but hectic!
2 adults and 2 tweens. We laughed so hard lot and had fun. The hot tubs were SO GOOD for us frozen aussies although we didn’t realise you have to sit cold on the benches to line up for the car that drives you up the hill. It would have been great to have a bit of guidance on the different tracks and what is good to do in your ride. 3 of us went in one and my husband’s legs pinned mine down so I did the whole sidewinder flat on my back, laughing and taking in water - I can see how you can drown in 30cm of water! and the water knocking my contacts around! One smart son went by himself - although, we did have fun! We all enjoyed racing the straight track more so and wished we’d known - we would have done that one again instead of the sidewinder. It’s pricey but a good thing to tick off your bucket list!

    Fun but expensive
We arrived an hour early as an earlier activity ended sooner than expected, the team fit us in straight away, and we got straight up and into the Mega Track Zorb. It was 2 minutes of chaos, slipping around in the ball, being pelted with water and not knowing which way is up. However we also couldn't stop laughing, it felt like we were travelling so fast and it was a lot of fun. However I probably wouldn't do it again now, as it's very expensive for a very short experience.

I am so glad we took an hour out of our day to experience zorbing for our first time. It's so much fun and not at all scary. The entire operation is really well run and the staff is very friendly. They have changing rooms there, cubbies for your stuff, and rentals for things such as towels and even Go-Pros if you want to video yourself going down. They transport you up the hill in a truck and even have hot tubs you can sit in if you have to wait for any period of time. We did all three courses and the sidewinder was my favorite. I wasn't as much of a fan of the highest/longest course as your back really takes a pounding coming down and so much water is flying in your face that you can't open your eyes. That said, I bed my kids would have loved it.

Great fun!! That sidewinder was brutal! Loved the hot tubs. Easy to find and very accommodating. We prepurchased ticket for 1500, but we're in the area earlier, gave them a ring to see if we could go earlier and they said sure thing.

I went with my Contiki group, and we had such a fun time!! The staff were friendly, the lines were quick and efficient, and the cost to add on extra goes was super cheap! The facility was clean, safe, and well-looked after. The only thing was because we arrived mid-afternoon, the hot tubs were very dirty and it was pretty disgusting to sit in. The hot tubs are an excellent idea though!! Just wish they were cleaner. Overall, a wonderful experience.

From the great staff at the counter to the van driver, and the ones that let us out, it was a fabulous time. Haven't screamed or laughted so much. Will recommend it to anyone. So we'll worth it.

This ride was so much fun! My 11 and 16 year old sons loved it! And me and my husband could not stop laughing the whole way down. My 8 year old daughter was too scared to go down.
We bought two rides each and ended up upgrading to four. Staff was great. We all highly recommend this!

Ever since I first saw Zorbing on TV years ago, it had been on my “bucket list”- and now it has been checked. Great fun, well fun, and a one-of-a-kind experience! Thx for the memories!

Great time, strong recommend! One of the must absurd experiences I had in New Zealand, well worth it. Would recommend trying all 3, and make use of the hot tubs.
