Uncle Tim and his lovely wife brought us to Taopo for a day tour. The itinerary covers so many attractions in a single day, maximizing our experience in such great town. Will definitely contact this nice couple again for next visit. Stay in touch, Uncle Tim.

In connection with a 2-day trip from Auckland to Waitomo, Rotorua & Taupo late January I was so incredibly lucky to be picked up by Tim and his wife Al (not sure the spelling is correct) on the second day. They told me that I would be spending the entire day with them, whereas I had been expecting yet another day with a big group of people in a bus. Was I happy? Yeah, of course I was c”,) In the beginning I may have seemed a quite unfortunate and difficult guest to be with, as I within the first hours managed to not only drop my sun glasses in the mud, but also to get away from the couple in Wai-O-Tapu during a 5-minute walk on my own… Well, despite of the above incidents I had an absolutely fantastic day with Tim and Al, who showed me not only the above sites, but also took me to a river cruise at Huka Falls, to Taupo Lakes and the nearby sites, etc. Tim is truly knowledgeable, not only when it comes to New Zealand, but also to countries worldwide. He is extremely punctual and a very good driver. During the day both Tim and his wife took quite a few photos of me, something I really appreciate, as these can be quite hard to get, when you travel on your own. For sure I can say that I will never ever forget this day, and I am truly thankful to Tim and Al for providing me with this experience c”,)

Our tour agency arranged a fantastic day with Uncle Tim and his wife. Tim was friendly, approachable knowledgeable and fun-loving. It was a pleasant experience exploring the thermal wonderland, seeing exploding geysers and panoramic views, admiring beautiful glass art and tasting a variety of honey. So why did I mentioned double date? Well, while my wife and I were enjoying the tour, we caught glimpses of how loving both Tim and his wife were and it made us felt that they were on a date themselves too! - Ray and Moon 🇸🇬

We first met Tim when he appeared, by previous arrangement unbeknownst to us, to take us from our organized tour in Te Puia to our hotel. He was friendly, and most knowledgeable about the area. We then had the good fortune to meet up with Tim when we went to the Information Centre in Rotorua to arrange to go to Waimangu Volcanic Valley. He was the driver who came to get us. Again, his driving was perfect, he told us about the history of the area and met us at the end of our day to bring us back to our hotel. We then made arrangements for Tim to bring us to the airport the next morning. He was punctual and a pleasure to drive with. He is a gem.

Arriving in Rotorua on a tour bus, my wife and I were dismayed to find that the company that had booked our hotel and tours had screwed up.......big time. Before we arrived our bus driver had contacted Tim to confirm our hotel reservations. Tim drove us to the hotel, who confirmed that they had no reservation for us, We were fortunate that they had a room available and that they were able to honor the certificate that our travel agency had given us. Tim insisted on driving us to where our tours were to originate so that we could make sure that everything was in order. Once again there was a problem that we were able to resolve. We had been told that when we were ready to leave Rotorua, we could catch the bus back to Auckland at our hotel. Tim advised us (correctly) that this was not so. He showed up, and drove us to the correct place to catch the bus. The guy is amazing. Incredibly knowledgeable , and you couldn't ask to meet a nicer guy. Oh,yes, here's the truly amazing part of the story. After all his help in saving our vacation and acting as our personal chauffeur , Tim refused to take any money for his services. Not even for the gas he used. The phrase "a scholar and a gentleman" is seldom appropriate in describing someone. In Tim's case, it fits perfectly.
