We were really looking forward to visiting this, but it's gone. The equipment has been sold to the Gough family in Christchurch and there is a Deer Museum on the site. Hopefully the Goughs/Cat NZ will reopen somewhere, someday. Until then, we shall just have to content ourselves with old manuals and photos.

If your into Caterpillars this is a must to go too. There's some awesome gear inside for all to enjoy. You need time to appreciate the collection.

Great to understand the importance of these machines in the development of NZ had not really appreciated their significance before visiting. Would have liked to see one working and the hubby in the seat, but... More

The history and links to the US. It was much more than we expected, especially taking my in-laws there. We enjoyed the layout and the interesting displays.
