Great tour - you explore the stunning forest through trails, some challenging and some more cruisy, but its always fun. Joe was a super guide - we weren't very MTB-experience, but he helped us pick it up quickly. He graded things well so that keen people could take the tricky trails and others a more easy option. He also took us to gorgeous parts of the forest that would otherwise have been difficult to find. And although it was peak season we didn't bump into too many other riders.

John and his wife were very professional and adapted the tour individual to the different skills for beginners up to the profs. Very good fully e-mtbs, Focus with Shimano motor and double batteries. The company supplies new helmets, back-bag, water bottles, suncream, gloves and muesli bars. We spent half a day in the Redwoods riding all sorts of trails. Thank you both for the great time we have had. It was pure fun. An absolute Must-Do in Rotorua if you like biking. I will come back for sure!

I had a business trip to NZ and squared away a spare day to MTB in the fabled Rotorua area. The best area to ride is the Redwoods, and the way to enjoy most decents is on an large travel, slack head electric bike for the day. Throw in Joe, a guide who knows all the trails and hazards to watch, and you would have ended up at Mohawks. 9am to 3pm, riding 50 odd kms. I had a lunch supplied which wad so large I had it for dinner as well I the way back to Auckland. I have been riding for 10 years, had never ridden am e bike before, and had my most enjoyable day in the saddle. Highly recommend Mohawks. Pros from start to finish.

My dad, brother and I had a stellar day in the Redwoods with Joe. We were picked up at our residence and brought to the bike shop for a quick orientation. Afterwards we started our ride through the geothermal areas that surround the area before making it to the Redwoods.
These were among the best mountain biking trails we have ever ridden (plus the Ebike makes climbing hills much less of a chore). Joe was a friendly and charming guide and was able to pick trails that matched our skill level. An awesome 6 hour tour !
Added perk, the included lunch was phenomenally delicious and he had cold beers waiting for us in the car on the ride home! If you love mountain biking and haven’t yet given the Ebike a ride, I highly recommend going on a ride with Joe!

Joe took us out to the Redwoods with a couple of E-Mountain Bikes and it was wonderful. We're both beginner mountainbikers and we were guided through the different trails, levelling up as we progressed. We covered so many trails, it was amazing.
I had a small accident, leaving me with a bruise and torn pants. Our guide was with me within one minute with a first aid kit, and even drove us to the nearby mall to get some new pants so we could continue. Epic service!

This is a special expirience which you should not miss. The Mohawk Team is very professional and supplie you with very good ebikes, Focus fully with 2 batteries, backbag, suncream, gloves, new helmets and at the end of the tour a fresh beer!! The tour starts from the office abd leads to the Redwoods as a warm up befire you hit the real mountainbike trails.John the owner and our guide is a real professional and dies his job with passion. It is a real must- do if you pass Rotorua!

Best activity, ever. Joe and the the staff at the shop are great. They are informative, kind and have no hint of pretentiousness that I have encountered at other shops in the US. The gear was beyond my expectation and in great working order.
Joe was a great guide. He gives the local history, assess riders abilities and crafts an experience for the riders. I felt challenged but always felt like I was riding within my ability. The best part was we were able to cover about 25 miles of riding including some fun uphill sections thanks the the E-Bike. I wished I had more time to ride with the team at Mohawk.

Excellent picturesque tour of many mountain bike terrain areas - geothermal, redwood, classic NZ bush - both stream and rugged. We are both novices and not “spring chickens”, but are familiar with e-bikes. Our Tour guide Joe judged the difficulties of the tracks for us perfectly. Joe detailed information about the tracks through out, what to watch out for, and how to tackle it. It made our 3.5 hours of solid cycling challenging fun, and gave us a really exciting morning. We felt safe and exhilarated at all times. That’s a great combo! Thanks Jo!

Great ride, love their E-bikes! We had a young Dutch guide by the name of Tys that spoke perfect English and made it very enjoyable for us 70 year olds!!!
