Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stopped in on our way out of Rotorua and all 5 of us enjoyed taking funny photos. We were lucky to have the whole place to ourselves but I imagine if it was busy it wouldn't be quite as much fun.
They give you good instructions on how to get the best photos, where to stand and they show examples of what other people have done.
I do feel it's a bit overpriced for what it is and the fact it took us an hour max to take photos with all the settings. Seemed a lot of money for a short amount of time.
We enjoyed the experience but won't be rushing back. Staff were friendly and helpful.

This is a great place for all ages. There are 50 paintings to pose and have fun with making for excellent photos. The staff were friendly and helpful, coming around regularly to see if we needed help or they could take a photo for us. We spent a good hour here and have some great fun photos. Highly recommended.

If you like being creative, having fun and taking lots of photos then this place is for you! Ideally this gallery is for older children and adults. It has so many different back drops to work with and the staff helped with ideas and taking groups shots. Take a fully charged camera. We really enjoyed the visit and the photos are great memories of our trip. Would highly recommend.

I was told by some friends about this place and they convinced my hubby and I . Well we left early on Saturday from Taupo and was it worth it!! This place is just a MUST DO that you have to visit at least once in your lifetime. The receptionist explained to us how it works like where to stand to get the best photos . It looks like normal paintings until you look through your camera.... the painting becomes alive and it’s just wow !! Carl and I had an absolute blast in there!! Time stood still while we had absolute fun !! I will recommend this to any family with kids as well, the more the merrier and in this case, the more people, the more fun you’ll have!! We will be back and very soon too!! Thanks guys for making our mini break even more special!!

such a unique experience! this is not a time to be serious but a time to find your inner child. Pull funny faces, get into weird poses, the more effort you put into it, the better your photo. Such a clever idea. My friend and I had a blast and it didn't take much to get into the spirit of things and start competing against each other for the best photo. A great time!!!

We went here as it was raining (as it did for most of our stay unfortunately). The artwork is amazing and we got great photos with stunning effects. We didn't spend as long as some people as there were only two of us; I think you might get more from it if you have a larger family.
Just make sure your phone/camera is fully charged before you go.

11 year old thought she would be bored by art. She had the most fun interacting with the paintings. Even the adults had fun, could see families around us really enjoying this. Good for all ages.

A real fun place to go. Very clever artwork allows you to put yourself in a picture. Sit on a frozen ledge, shear a sheep, stop a runaway train with just one hand, get caught in an octopuses tentacles or even walk on the moon are just a few of the amazing artworks. Fun for everyone!

Whole family had great fun here, a great rainy or cold day activity which will get the whole family involved.
The husband seemed to want more photos taken than the teenagers!
Definitely make sure you bring your phones or cameras for a bunch of laughs.

Awesome experience!! We went today and had a right laugh! It’s such a clever idea and really well put together! Easy to follow and easy to have some fun!! We’re in our early 30’s, there were young kiddies there and older folk too, all having a great time! Highly recommend this experience! Robyn was wonderful to deal with and Adrienne at Reception was extremely friendly and helpful. Thanks team!
