A Must Do!
Nov 2018 • Family
As a family we really enjoy mini golf and we find a new course every time we go on holiday. This holiday we came across Lumberjax Mini Golf in Rotorua online and chose to give it a go.

The facility that it is in alone is absolutely fantastic - our son was a bit in awe! Motion Entertainment is just awesome for kids! And Lumberjax exceeded our expectations as well - I wish I'd got the woman's name on the desk there as she was just wonderful. So friendly and welcoming and fun to engage with, customer service at its finest.

The course itself is well laid out and everything fits into the overall theme so perfectly which just adds to the fun! Some great obstacles and our seven year old loved it. We ended up playing a second game straight after! Highly recommend :)

One of the best courses to play, and managed my best score! Interesting and fun course, with some tricky holes.

Good for the kids

Lumberjax mini golf is located inside a new complex called Motion Entertainment, which houses other fun looking things to do such as indoor tramps, bowling etc. We were looking for something to do on a freezing cold, wet night and this is a great place to go with kids if you have some time to spare. What I really liked about this mini golf is that it is great for kids - ie. not too hard for them to complete, otherwise it really takes the fun out of it. It was hard enough to be a challenge, but not too hard that it put them off. It is a really cool looking course too. I guess the only downside is the price, $58 for a family of 4 is not exorbitant, but not cheap for an hour's entertainment. If you go in winter be sure to take a coat as it was really cold in there esp when it is close to zero outside.

Fantastic when it is wet outside

Lumberjax is really good as indoor mini golf goes. The course has some challenges and obstacles to move around. Make sure you hold onto your score card - didn't notice until latter on it has a voucher for a return visit. Expensive - especially for university students as no student discount is offered.

Fun on a rainy day

Course is the most interesting design I’ve ever seen. Lots of unique plays and obstacles. Downside is price ($16 per adult) and if we didn’t have a two for 1 coupon from the entertainment book we wouldn’t have gone. Very very crowded on a Saturday midday. It’s in a building with lots of kid activities and it’s out in the open basically so it’s very loud.

An amazing indoor themed mini golf course. Plenty of hole in one chances on a quite challenging course. Great fun. I will be back!

Thanks for your feedback Anita Not many people know but logging was one of the main trades in Rotorua years ago. and that's what Lumberjax mini golf theme is based on, an 1850's Logging town. Glad you enjoyed it and look forward to seeing you again soon. Jax

Great family fun, pity about pricing

We played golf here last night with our sons and grandchildren. Played a few months ago also, but noticed this visited prices have gone up considerably.
It is a good 18 hole indoors Mini Golf, very interesting and challenging. And with 7 of us playing last night it took a good amount of time, with a lot of laughter from all. But must say it would possibly be out of the price bracket for many people who would look at taking a family to this and other activities at Motion Entertainment where Lumberjax is situated.
Good see they make changes to the course tho, it had several changes to previous visit and is all in good condition.

I mean hey, it's new, it's smart and its mini golf. But it's nothing special. Especially for $15 per adult. Most the holes are short and simple, some are more complex but where the more thematically complex holes exist they were often a bit of a let down by being rather simple or boring. At the end of the day we had a nice time and it filled in some time, hence the 3/5.

Holy crap, such fun

Had originally planned to go to a different, outdoor mini golf, but the weather was shocking so we came here instead before leaving Rotorua.
What fun! Took us (2 adults) about 40 minutes to complete, and then we played in time zone.
