Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

In a large party of 40+ people & there were others there too joining in the fun. Lots of things to see & being part of a dance like the Haka was cool. Explaining the Maori way of life through the years was a real insight. Most enjoyable. The food at the end was a bit stodgy, but the wine was quality & good value !

Had a great time watching the show. The food was really good. We were with a tour group but I would recommend this to others as well.

The audience participation backed (or rather led) by the Maori performers allowed one to be a part of the song and dance. The hardest part would be to allow yourself to feel the movement instead of think the movement.

We went to the evening show, saw the dancing and learnt a little about Maori culture. Had a delicious meal, the Hangi, with an huge variety of dishes. Then went down so see the geysers erupt, a fabulous experience and worth every penny.

After taking several international visitors to Rotorua, this is the Maori Culture show that we attend each time now. Any visit to Rotorua (or New Zealand) would not be complete without experiencing Maori Culture. While a 'show' isn't the real thing, the Sudima provides an authentic experience with plenty of explanation and opportunities to take part. The singing is beautiful and the opportunities to grab photo opportunities plentiful. We also enjoy the convenience of staying at the hotel so there is no need to drive anywhere afterwards. A great experience!

If you have a day to explore the culture of this area, then go here. It is run by the Maori people and it is a way to share in the culture. Hot Springs and mud pots with an active volcano. Don’t miss the meal experience. Warrior welcoming show and beautiful singing followed by a great buffet with meat and vegetables cooked in the traditional way. Wine or beer included. The evening ends with a visit to the volcano that is lit up at night. A great experience!

We were staying at the Sudima Hotel so decided to attend the Maori show at $62 each. We were greeted in the bar and hubby was asked to be chief for the evening. To be honest this made the night for us!
Following a traditional greeting we were taken through to the room. The room was full mainly with tour groups from other hotels.
Food was served immediately and was buffet style. The food was the only thing that stopped the night bring a 5 rating. Whilst tasty it was quite basic and plates were small so difficult to get much. This was fine for me but if you have a bigger appetite a bit disappointing. With so many guests going back up wasn't really an option
The show followed the meal. As "chief" hubby took part in the opening ceremony. Following song and dance including the haka the ladies were taught a traditional dance and the men the haka. At the end were photo opportunities. A great couple of hours!

Following a Maori Hangi dinner cooked in the ground outside the hotel a number of Maori dancers and singers entertained us for approx. an hour and included in the entertainment was a performance of the Haka. The artistes were friendly and willing to talk after the show and have photos taken with the audience.. A very enjoyable evening.

This was one of our tour highlights, it was the most enjoyable evenings I had in N.Zed. The Maori dancers and singers are absolutely wonderful and entertaining, the Huka and other dances were magic.
The buffet food selection was wonderful along with the sweets. The Hangi on the other hand was cooked Mutton and it was on the tough side. Once the show started they shut the bar which was disappointing and no money coming in for them.
