A good reminder that everyone thought for Queen/King when the call came. It didn't matter on the colour of your skin.

Arawa War Memorial Statue is also referred to as Te Arawa Soldiers Memorial and is located in the Government Gardens. It is an interesting dedication and is certainly worth visiting.

Great little museum. Interesting historic building with display of original spa. Good maori section and interesting exhibits in the art gallery.

The neglected and deteriorated monument as the memorial of the Te Arawa men who fought and died in WW1 built 1927 was finally restored by and under the coordination of Rotorua Local Government, and now is standing proudly at the corner of Government Garden.
Visit this monument as the bonus when visiting other attractions close by, such as Rotorua Museum, Government Garden and Polynesian Spa.

The Gothic style memorial is in the Government Gardens, with the Klamath Falls Rose Garden behind it and the Rotorua Museum on the right. It commemorates Te Arawa Men who fought and died in the First World War. It was unveiled on the 28th February 1927 by The Duck of York ( later King George The VI ). The cannon next to the statue look nice.
