We chose the overnight adventure-filled cruise. Activities included paintball as a creative ice-breaker game, fishing during sunset, kayaking, swimming, nature walks and snorkelling. The crew were a dream, treating everybody like mates and teaching us how to fish properly or telling us the interesting history...More

Captain Johnny, we had so much fun. Thank you to your staff for being so patient with us. The kayaking was terrifying but we are happy that we put our worries aside and climbed into a much smaller boat to leave a bigger boat which...More

We did a day tour departing from Paihia. This wasn't what we expected for a day cruise. It is for the very social and is an alternative experience on board - pool table, piano, chess etc. The best activity was the walk and view up...More

I was travelling with a group, G adventures, and we stayed on The Rock for 1 night. From the moment we stepped foot on the boat, it was great fun. With a bar and many activities (from paintball shooting to fishing, snorkelling to kayaking), it...More

As cruises go, the one offered by this tiny outfit is about as unusual as it gets. While most operators pride themselves on using modern, sleek boats The Rock sails away on a slow, barge-like vessel that is really a decades-old converted car ferry, equipped...More

I have a brother who is traveling with my son and myself. He needs a small amount of AC power at night to run a medical device (very low power and no concern about 117 or 220 and occasional drop outs). Is there a sleeping place we could book to have that ability? Do you supply fins, masks, and snorkels for the swimming? Ted

Hello - I have got to say, the reviews of this trip sound amazing! I'm travelling to NZ in January 2016 with my 16 yo son. He's a bit reserved when he is around people he doesn't know ... so I'm wondering if you think the overnight cruise on the Rock would be okay. Are there normally teenagers on board? Thanks so much!!
