We had a wonderful day aboard the R Tucker Thompson. Crew were great and really helped to make us feel part of the team. The history of the ship was fascinating and the projects currently underway are a credit to those involved. Would highly recommend...More

An excellent day out. The sun shone, the sea was blue, and a little wind to help us get to and from our remote destination. After a walk up a steep hill, to take in the views, a swim was called for. Lunch was served...More

A great day out at a very reasonable cost. Wonderful opportunity - just do it! The staff are great. Lunch is good. Swimming from boat and helping crew - wonderful.

Kia ora and thank you for your lovely feedback; we're glad you think the sailing is good value - a tall ship is a lot more expensive to run than a yacht!

I’m prone to seasickness so was unsure about this, but I’m so glad I went. Crew was fun, competent and engaging. Boat is interesting and photogenic. Route is varied and pretty. Food delicious. And I didn’t get seasick!More

Awesome! We're thrilled to hear you didn't get seasick; we have quite a deep hull and go through the water rather than bounce on surface which you get with motorised vessels so we are a bit more kindly than some boats. Glad you enjoyed the...More

If you want to do some serious sailing then this is the trip to take on the Bay of Islands. I suspect that most people will put up with the discomfort associated with an old sailing vessel and that is the way it should be....More

Kia ora and I am glad you enjoyed a traditional type of experience on board our "good ship". Yes, we are a working vessel but the upside of this as you have noted is that our crew are real sailors and it is our pleasure...More

Super day out on a Tall Ship. We were brilliantly looked after, informed and options to get involved in sailing this cracking ship. Never mind the weather, wind and rain makes it even more fun, including the Dolphins swimming alongside.

Kia ora and thank you for your review of your day on board our good ship. We've had some "interesting" weather this summer and good on you for giving it a go, despite a bit of rain and wind!

Sorry no, it is the one day we do not sail. We sail on Boxing day and Christmas eve but we like our crew to be able to spend their day with family on Christmas day.
