Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Clive Square was a refreshing oasis in the otherwise bustling Central Business District of Napier with its famous Art Deco buildings. It was wonderful just to stroll, sit amongst the beautiful floral beds and take in the freshness which the public square brings to the city.

Spectacular place to visit and see the gorgeous flowers. It was peaceful, sans the three goofballs getting drunk on the bench. There was no threat felt by them, but they were rather loud

We had a room on Emerson Ave. so Clive Square was just a block away. It is well laid out and alive with annuals in bloom.

A beautiful park in the heart of Napier. Take a seat and enjoy the huge palm trees as well as many other tree species and if you happen to stumble by between 11.30 and 14.00 you will also hear music playing from the bells in the middle of the park. A very enjoyable break.

You can hear the bells ring out playing tunes every hour. Lovely little pond in the centre. Features old fountain, incredibly pretty gardens, loads of space to sit and enjoy the surroundings. Must see in Napier

A good place to stop and relax or have something to eat. There are some bench seats here and the trees provide some shade on sunny days. Wheelchair accessible. Well kept grounds and a few rubbish bins around so you can dump your face nappies into them instead of on the ground.

You can eat your icecream or have a picnic here. Sometimes there’s close by entertainment. It’s very pretty and I can imagine the Tent City Emergency city being set up here after the 1931 earthquake.

If you are wanting a quiet place to eat your lunch in the middle of the CBD, this is one of those places. Interesting history. The farmers market is here on Saturday. Otherwise nothing of outstanding interest.

We went to the Farmers Market on Saturday morning and it was a fabulous setting and well attended. The park has plenty of seating and lovely green areas for putting down a rug to enjoy the wonderful treats from the market.

Clive Square is a pretty garden shaded by trees. A set of bells plays at certain times during the day. Great spot for picnic lunch
