Beautiful gardens, well laid out. Smaller than I thought but still enjoyable. Lovely aviary with budgies. Cemetery next door is worth a visit. Really interesting history board with numbered grave sites of notable citizens.

We walked a few miles to get here and the hills we had to climb were beyond our general level of exercise. That said, we have conditioned ourselves after 3 weeks in NZ already, but these hills were still challenges. By the time we reached...More

Really enjoyed my walk around here, the layout and plants were very good.I am disabled and managed to walk around quite a bit of it, but some areas were to steep for me.

Garden is so well manicured! Flowers are enormous! Absolutely beautiful. Such a variety of plants and glorious roses. Well kept and tended.

It's a manageable walk from the sea front and easy to find with the tourist map. The garden although small compared to the usual botanical gardens are perfectly formed. They are on the side of a steep hill but with well maintained paths. There are...More
