We had such an amazing day.... We stopped at 3 wineries and the timing was perfect! Highly recommend for a day trip in Napier.

We absolutely loved our day on e-bikes from Napier City Bike Hire! Jan and Phil were very flexible about our reservation when adverse weather threatened our plans - which fortunately never materialized. They were super helpful with suggestions about where to ride and where to stop for a wine tasting and lunch. The e-bikes were like new, rode comfortably, shifted easily, and had great storage for water, a layer, maps, etc. We rode over 40km around Napier and had a perfect day. We highly recommend Napier City Bikes!

We loved our bike trip although my in-laws had a couple of small accidents due to having not been on bicycles for decades. Dave was super helpful, he got us the right bikes and responded to our queries promptly. Thank you Dave for your kind help to pick us up from the winery.

Although we did not get to go to the wineries (closed on Tuesday) we loved the cycling along the coast and our lunch at Hygge Cafe. Getting picked up and driven back to town was great. Highly Recommend o

The bikes are pretty good, but are starting to look tired. The pannier leans forward too much and the phone compartment is too small to accommodate newer phones. My bell was missing, my partner's bike creaked changing gears and we got one bike lock for two bikes. We hired the 'Cushy' bikes at $45 for 8 hours (which still feels steep, but that's $5/hour), and the seats aren't all that cushy! If you're expecting a seat with springs then you're going to be disappointed. The guy who served us in the morning wasn't that friendly, but the woman we returned the bikes to in the evening was.
All this said, Napier and Hastings are totally set up for bike riding! The recent cyclone has put some paths out of order, but there are some great paths, lots of cafes and everyone says hello!

The shop is directly across from the iCentre, which makes it very convenient when coming off the cruise ship.
The ebikes were ready for us, as we booked ahead online. Newer bikes that were well tuned and worked great.

We hired two e-bikes and the service we received was excellent. Bikes were in great condition. We were a little limited in trails due toy the cyclone damage but still managed a 30k trip around Hawkes Bay and Bay View.
Highly recommended way to see the area.

We decided to take the Great Cape Escape tour, which involved cycling about 25km to a choice of vineyards. We cycled through some beautiful countryside, along the coast, through the wetlands and saw some lovely wildlife. We had chance to have lunch at one of the vineyards, and visit another for a tasting. If we had cycled quicker, we could have visited a third. We were supplied with helmets, map and panier. The staff spent the time, taking us through the bikes and map.
It was a really fun day and I can highly recommend it.

Brilliant day on the best bike I’ve ridden.
The staff had the e-bike ready, gave clear instructions on how to use it and set me free onto Napier’s beautiful coastal trails.
Sunshine, fresh cut grass and the wind in my hair was exhilarating and all so easy! Highly recommend for cruisers visiting this port.

How do you get there from port? can you walk?

Hi.You could walk from Napier port,I'm guessing it would take about 20min to 30min depending on your fitness level.Its all flat and along a walkway.But if you are Talking about Ahuriri marina it would take a fair while to walk.Highly recommend hiring bikes the bike ride out to mission estate through the wetlands and farmers land through Ahuriri marina and on the limestone paths is a nice easy flat ride.Have fun there's lots a cycle tracks you can do and the staff at Napier city bikes are really friendly and helpfull
