My partner and I did the ride along the estuary to Clearview winery - some 26 kms. The Napier City Bike Hire crew couldn’t have been more helpful, accommodating with very good humour our late arrival (we slept in!) and setting us up with comfortable bikes. The ride was beautiful, grade one difficulty (flat, broad path) with scenery of marshland and birds. The Napier crew kindly agreed to pick our bikes up for no extra charge from Clearview instead of the usual Elephant Hills when we failed to get a booking at the latter. Great thing to do in Napier!

Thank you for taking the time to write a review and I am glad that we were able to change our schedule around a bit to make the day work for you. The ride out on the Cape Coast is one of our favourites and Clearview is a lovely place for lunch.

We hired a couple of pedal bikes for the day and had a great ride. Choosing the flat 24km ride out to Clearview Estate along the coastal path proved a real winner. Plenty to see, almost entirely on a cycleway and easily navigated. After a quick wine at Clearview we enjoyed a session at Elephant Hill (highly recommended) then pedalled back into town. Booking the bikes for the day took all the pressure off rushing and made the day so much more enjoyable. Shop open 9 - 5 daily.
Helmets, trail maps and bike locks provided.
Tandem and kids bikes available.
$35 for 4 hours or $45 on a pedal bike
$60 for 4 hours or $85 on a electric bike. Service was great, thank you.

Super helpful. Good advice, very flexible scheduling. Excellent equipment, and they know their stuff. Enjoyed the bike so much I ended up buying one of their saddles, which was the most comfortable one I’ve found in some time.

We enjoyed the bike ride very much but wish we would have studied the map a bit more first. The ride included a couple wineries at the beginning, then a long ride, and then a few more. Would have preferred a pace that was more evenly spaced out. But otherwise a great experience and would hire a bike from here again.

I would highly recommend hiring a bike in Napier , a great way to discover the surroundings without too much effort . We hired the electric bikes which were easy to use even for a first timer . The staff were very helpful and gave us some tips on what to see and do . We hired the 4 hour option but next time I would recommend 5 hours to give you time to explore the wineries. Definitely recommend this company very professional and excellent bikes .. one more tip pre book the electric bike if there is a cruise ship in town .

Called in on the off chance on a quiet. Walked out less than 10 minutes later with 2 excellent bikes. Good tyre pressure and gearing made the rides super easy and big old comfy seats (with suspension on mountain version but not the step thru model) made for excellent quality experience. No sore backsides after 3 hours riding!
The 35+ km circuit was challenging but do-able for folks who had not been on a bike in years.
Time keeping with a super slow kitchen for our lunch with a view our only issue. Bikes each had names for easy id when calling in our delay. Office super helpful.

Arrived at the chick's hire shop to be met by the cheerful, friendly Tim. Swift intro to Eve, bike set up, map in hand & off we went. Met friends on their bikes for coffee, set out on a 60km trail ride circuit. Not long into it our friend had a flat, my husband had a chain prob on hire bike. But because he's bike maint capable fixed & helped our friend then we really were off to get a pub lunch & enjoy the scenery. Ever changing views with photo ops everywhere. Quick lunch then if to get the bikes back in the 4hrs. We swiftly left our friends(locals) once on the waterfront trail. Zoomed away to get back to store by 3pm for Tim. I phoned ahead to let him know we were running behind due to issues w bikes. So Tim was super cool about us being fractionally late returning. Awesome experience & highly recommend- we rode the comfy basic specialized models & were extremely confident & happy. Thanks guys!!

We hired a couple of bikes from here for a 4-hour ride around the town. Reasonable rates and bikes are first rate quality and maintained. If you're coming off a cruiseliner, very simple to get the shuttle into town (about two minutes), cross the road and get a bike. Save big dollars on a cruise excursion bike tour. These guys will fit you up, give you a map and away you go.
The paths are predominantly offroad, flat and easy riding. Great day, thanks.

Thanks for your review and pleased to hear that you found our location across the road from where the cruise ship shuttles deliver passengers to town nice and convenient! It certainly is easy to do a self guided ride here, using the signposts, maps and our simple instructions. Glad you had a great day out!

We hired bikes for our family during a stopover on a cruise. Service was fabulous and staff took the time to guide us to the best track for us. Bikes were comfortable to ride, helmets were nice and clean too.

We arranged a shuttle to collect us and our bikes from Clifton following biking there and doing the Cape Kidnappers Safari. The arrangements were easy to make and the shuttle was perfect. Amazing extra service from the lovely driver who detoured to enable us to pick up our injured child from BaySkate & gave excellent advice on urgent medical care. Thank you!

Hi.You could walk from Napier port,I'm guessing it would take about 20min to 30min depending on your fitness level.Its all flat and along a walkway.But if you are Talking about Ahuriri marina it would take a fair while to walk.Highly recommend hiring bikes the bike ride out to mission estate through the wetlands and farmers land through Ahuriri marina and on the limestone paths is a nice easy flat ride.Have fun there's lots a cycle tracks you can do and the staff at Napier city bikes are really friendly and helpfull
