We spent two days in Napier specifically to do some of the cycle trails and were not disappointed. We are in our 70's and now find that the cycle tracks around Taupo in the forest are getting beyond us. Napier trails suited us well -...More

The majority of HB trails are long stop banks adjoining rivers. You can do several loops which is always a nice option. Lots of lovely trees and picturesque countryside.

Great concrete pathway and limestone trails, so you don't have to go on the road very often. These are flat and great and easy to ride. We loved going to the Puketapu Pub, with the added bonus of a cold beer and lunch to keep...More

If you are going for a cycle make sure you do the trail ride from Havelock North down the TukiTuki river and along the coast to Clifton. About 50km return trip but all flat, smooth trail, and eating options along the way

The trails are a pleasant way to get to some excellent wineries but they are not a top class activity in their own right. The trails are not all that well marked and at times run trough some heavy industry areas. If you choose to...More

Hawke’s Bay has just absolutely amazing trails for biking in every direction! I really enjoyed biking along the waterfront. The roads are good and signs often enough that you don’t get lost. The best way to see around Napier & Hastings.
