We were most pleasantly surprised at how good this aquarium is. Lots of information and fun trying to identify the different fish, especially in the tunnel.

We visited the aquarium with a 6yo and a 4yo. Make sure you time your visit to include penguin feeding & fish feeding. The diver putting on the fish feeding show was great - very interactive with the kids. We went during the school holidays...More

Visit during the week to avoid crowds, this gives you a chance to talk to the keepers as well as not being rushed at any of the exhibits! Penguin enclosure gets you the closest, and you'll need great night vision to see the Kiwi if...More

We’ve been to many aquariums around China and HongKong, this was literally the smallest we’ve seen. Funny enough tho, the crayfish tank looks like one of our seafood tank in a restaurant. See funny seahorse father giving birth to baby seahorse tho, and the “tunnel”...More

The wife and I arrived just after 11.00am and we found the price did not justify what there was to see. There was not a lot to see. We missed the first feeding of the Penguins and did not stay for the feeding of the...More

We found this a magical place with well displayed fish of all kinds, shapes and sizes as well as animals including kiwis and penguins. Everything was spotlessly clean and easily visible and explanations and projects for children were carefully thought out. Feeding by divers in...More

Visited on a rainy day. A surprise encounter with kiwi birds here. They were so clearly visible unlike some other places we’ve visited in New Zealand. Can see some stingrays, penguins, sharks and other fish. Felt sorry for a large green turtle stuck in a...More

This aquarium is really a true reflection of the very hard work, research and the imagination of the people involved in creating such a wonderful place in New Zealand. A place worth visiting with children.

Hi, we had no problems with size, group ranging from 110kgs to 80kgs. Very accommodating instructor ensuring we were comfortable and well briefed. Take a camera for some great close ups of the sharks. Enjoy!
