If you have time good to pay a visit! Lots of beautiful things esp if you need to get a gift for someone ! I bought quite a few pieces of jewelry. If I live in Hawkes Bay Area I would buy things for my home !

It's never going to be good value, but you come here for the experience.
An afternoon tea, on delicate china, with rosebuds among the little sandwiches!
When did you last have a treat like this?
The surroundings are retro too, with an eclectic mix of new and old on display.
Then, walk away from the 1960s and into the Napier sunshine.
Bonkers, but in a nice way.

Took myself and 2 friends to celebrate her birthday with a high tea. It cost $21.90 each for 1 asparagus roll, 1/4 cream cheese sandwich. 1 scone with cream and jam to share, 1 slice and 1 pot of tea. Never again, cannot justify $65.70 for that. I feel completely and utterly RIPPED OFF!!!!

I took my daughter for a special treat last week.
Port o call is a beautiful sitting - very girly. Perfect for our outing.
However, we waited so long for food that was already prepared.
The coffee was horrendous. I paid $4.50 for a coffee in a tea cup. It was burnt and bitter. You could tell by the horrific noise she was making when frothing the milk that it was going to be a disappointment. Hawthorne need to come and do some training.
I had expected the sandwiches to be proper club sandwiches - however - what we end up with was 3 sandwiches that comprised of two tiny heart shape slices of bread with a miserable amount of filling. The scone was hot and sweaty - you could tell it had been heated in the microwave. And my daughters biscuit was soft (possibly from being in the jar so long). For one scone, three "Royal Albert" sandwiches, a biscuit, one coffee and one juice we paid $33!
Definitely won't be going back again.

We went there with a coupon for eggs benedict but we didn't know they don't make them after 11am. They were very kind and agreed to make the eggs at 2pm. The food was really good.
They place is very particular, you can judge from the pictures on the website, but we liked it! It's different.

Really enjoyed the special "High Tea" with my Mum - layered china cake-plate decorated with fresh flowers, and filled with a delightful selection of dainty sandwiches and cakes! We had the cutest teapot cosy, and pretty cup and saucer sets - like stepping into the 1950's! Good selection of locally made jewellery, clothing and giftware too. I take all my visitors to Napier there!
